I'm sick of wasting time on the appalling business model of this "tech advanced" 2017 world we live in. MISSION SPRINGS WATER DISTRICT and SOCAL EDISON need to make some serious changes to the structure of their organizations as each is dangerously close to tragedy. This being said, we are long steady customers of both. Illness, an inconceivable criminal act by SEARS PALM DESERT and "Life" took some hard hits last year resulting in hardship for us two fixed income seniors.

For the most part people have been patient and decent. SEARS, EDISON, AND MISSION SPRINGS WATER DISTRICT PRACTICE TACTICS THAT IF THEY AREN'T ALREADY, SHOULD BE DECLARED EXTORTION.

We have wasted HOURS being so disrespected, bullied, laughed at, harrassed and abused by their lowest level employees that have been given the power of God to declare and deny us water, energy and/or refund of stolen funds.

These monsters are not qualified to be making important decisions like denying water for 5 days until payment. 5 DAYS, for a balance not worthy of the health issues involved. EDISON wouldn't accept payment in full to restore service UNTIL I ALSO PAID A $170. "Deposit". FULL PMT NOT ENOUGH? I REFUSE, SO THE BASTARDS HAVE OPENED A SECOND ACCOUNT FOR ME WITH $170. BALANCE. WHO THE HELL THINKS ADDING MORE HARDSHIP TO HARDSHIP IS THE WAY TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE IN TEMPORARY CRISIS?

You want to play God and deny my rights to water, electricity and our money? Then I suggest you remove the arrogance, the high school drop outs and replace the decision making staff with formally educated personnel equipped to make such judgement calls.

As with almost everyone who leaves a review for this poorly run monopoly, one star is far too generous. A negative star rating would be far more appropriate.

I guess the easy way to look at it is that you have absolutely no other choice than to use SCE unless you invest a small fortune in some sort of full-solar setup. Not feasible for 99.9% of users.

The reality of SCE is that the service is among the most expensive in the country. With recent estimates in June of 2025 putting a kWh at an average of 32.41 cents, they are around twice the national average.

The fact that it is an investor-owned company means customers are the last thing on the management's mind. What little phone customer service exists (it's an almost impossible task to find a human to speak to) has no training and the level of english proficiency is barely enough to get through reading the script in front of them. Something no agent seems to be able to deviate from no matter what your question is.

Through the end of September and the beginning of October in 2025, our power will have been out for "planned upgrades" for 7 out of 21 days. An absolute joke considering one of their reasons is upgrading to mitigate wildfires--the thing they should have been doing for years but waited until over 16,000 buildings burned to the ground in January of 2025, quite possibly as a result of outdated and faulty equipment, for them to suddenly jump into action.

No customer service, outdated equipment, archaic infrastructure, and eye-watering energy costs for all customers? It should be illegal. Instead, it's a government "regulated" monopoly, and there's absolutely nothing we can...
