I have used this source for years. I have sold cars to them. The Bethel location is by far the best. Staff up there friendly and helpful. Rosemont has huge sales volume, cars are stripped within a few days. Staff are busy and in fairness, some customers try to negotiate deals. The rates are posted you either like it or do not shop there. Management and Staff at Rosemont are not very friendly, and can be compared to the typical bad image of a "typical Junk Yard" They seem to be doing very well the way they operate their business and see no need to change anything. In todays world of computerization, they could ad a little more information on their web site about where the car is located in their lot with minimal cost. They could ad more information about the car. They choose not to, their current operations make money and is very busy so they choose not to make it more functional for their customers. It is always a gamble for me, if the parts will be available when I get there. I have often paid the $2.00 to get in, burned up $20.00 in gas, wasted my time to go there, walked out with nothing. However, there are those times you can find that stupid clip you need that costs $50.00 at the Dealership, or a broken wiring connector. I do not buy electronic parts there, They have a very short period of time to make returns, you also get credit, They have never refunded my money, only credit. Always take your core with you. They do charge core charges on many things. Unless you live next door, a trip back to return the core will cost more in gas, then the core charge, you will loose money. They serve a purpose, they are generally not very helpful, nor are they particularly friendly. Parts tend to sell quickly so if a vehicle is on the lot more than a week, likely what you want will not be on it. If they show only one or two vehicles that match what you need, it is very likely you will not find what you need. They crush cars after they have been on the lot, many times I have gone there, looking for a particular car, only to find they have not corrected their on line inventory and already crushed the car. Wasted time and money for me, again doing business here is a gamble.
With that said, there is a huge opportunity for a competitor to enter this twin city market. Little things like a photo of the car, basic specs, paint codes, not destroying the oil pans and gas tanks, money back on bad parts, parts testing stations, body part cut outs for a fee, engine\transmission pulling for a fee and so on. Keep their web site up and up to date. It was down this June 13 and 14 on a weekend and that's not the first time. I use them, but its a love/hate...

Mechanics and DIY's (Vets and New) Beware of Wrongful/Faulty Information Online, On Paper and Verbal:
Lack of Safety:
For over eight years, I have been going to this place, strictly for the purposes of testing it's environment, it's employees and the safety aspect of the business surrounding. Their policy guide, pertaining to safety has been in violation for too long. Anyone who enters the vehicle yard will immediately notice that the chemical spills coming from the vehicles have not been extracted from the vehicles, before the vehicles are set out onto the yard. There are also several vehicles tilted from their stands (Completely Unstable and Absolutely Unsafe to Work on). I intentionally cut off the aluminum A/C Compressor line on a few vehicles they have out on the yard and of course, they were still under pressure, releasing Freon into the atmosphere and leaking into the soil. This is one of the most dangerous chemicals to be released into our environment. I also thought I should check the Trans-Cooler Lines, Transmission Fluid, Radiator Fluid, Motor Oil, Windshield Washing Fluid and of course your everyday flammable Fuel (Yes, even the vapors, as these are very explosive) and by God all these fluids are still present in most of the vehicles. Which leads me to the voluntary staff who represent this business. What corrective measures are being taken, after all this time and opportunity to abide by the OSHA Regulations and Standards set in place for the protection of our environment and especially ourselves? Is it worth paying such an unspeakable penalty? This is not a bad business, but just like a customer is to follow the rules you put forth, so should you. Rules are in place because of safety. And not to be ignored, because it only takes once for a life to be lost.
Lack of Integrity (Online vs. On Site; On Printed Paper vs. On Vehicle Yard; 45 - 90 Days On Yard vs. "Staff Favoritism"): No Organization and Respect for Customers
Why do I keep hearing in person and online that customers who were at this business or are at this business are being lied to by the staff (most of whom are mid 20's kids)? If a business wants to hire a kid, so that it pays them cheap an hour, at least find somebody with that one single good moral value. Because ultimately, it will only be a matter of time before other customers find out and well the word gets out there pretty quick. Any of the staff just might end up getting caught red handed on video or audio recording and become exposed to any type of media (Which is what I call a...
Read moreSo I have been to U Pull R Parts in the past to buy those little clips that hold your visor in place in the past. I went on a weekday because I had the day off and it wasn't busy. Just like others, it was very very hard for me to even find the type of car that I have. No one was there to help me find it. After searching, I found them eventually. I was so surprised how picked over the cars were. There was not much left at all but the body of the car. Luckily I was able to find one that had the clips. I took a pair up to the front and the lady that was working said "Oh that’s all you wanted. Just go ahead and take them." So that was nice.
TODAY I called to see if I could bring in an old car that we don't use to get a little cash. (hoping for $100) When they answered the phone they asked if I could hold "could you hold please?" and before I could even respond or think, I was on hold. WOW. Then when a man answered I asked him about bringing in the car and he told me in an impolite way that the "buyers" are only there from Monday through Friday. Ok.... So I asked what he thought I could expect or what they can give and he said that the buyers are only there from Monday through Friday and hung up. REALLY. All I was looking for was just a ballpark. $5 or $10,000. I would have been happy with him saying "Well, it all depends and usually a running car that needs to be junked would be anywhere from $50-$200 based on shape, but it really needs to be brought in so we could figure out what it is worth."
I am a dad who takes pride in my kids being polite and always using please and thank you's. If I ever find out they acted the way this man did, they would be in so much trouble even if they were 40 years old. I don't care who you are, just be polite. AND never hang the phone up on a potential client.
The only time I will ever go back to this business is if I need a part like I did in the past. It will have to be for a common vehicle that is at least 10 years old and not to expect them having the part or any respect from the workers. I will never do business with them for any other reason. I cannot believe they treat...
