Fat Mikes Bbq Catering — Local services in Ross Township

As a family we are always trying new businesses and supporting small businesses. The food was good, served hot, staff is very friendly. For a Michigan bbq joint they’re great, you don’t find a place that serves any good southern style bbq around here. The closest we could find is Barrett’s smokehouse. So I would say Fat Mikes is worth a try. My husband had the brisket, our son had a brisket Mac bowl, and I had a pulled pork sammie.

I would of loved a little more bbq on mine however I still ate it all and found it really good. Sides however weren’t our absolute favorite, beans were good, Mac and cheese was good, I didn’t try the slaw but my husband said the potato salad was just ok. Remind you again, we’re always in Mississippi and no one does BBQ like The Shed, But Fat Mikes is a great Michigan bbq spot and something new and different for the small town of Augusta!!

Will we go again?...

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It had a really light but good taste. It was very tender and easy to bit/chew - some places the meat is hard to bite into. The sauce that I asked for on the side was decent - I'm a picky eater so... And got an ice cream. Forgot the total price but it was very reasonable. I live in Galesburg so I'm sure I'll drive over and eat there again. Side note, there were only two younglings working so it was a little slow, but they were doing their best. Glad I found a new place to eat. I'm not a fan of driving to Kzo and going to all the big name restaurants. They should check out...

It was ok I guess. Friendly staff. Ordered the sampler platter with all 3 meats they sell Chicken,Pork, and Beef. ALL shredded. Not really a fan of shredded meats UNLESS bread or a roll we're offered. 3 small sides the dilly potato salad was flavorless, really needed salt, maybe onion or eggs or celery???? Also the baked beans (with meat) were excellent but the meat was shredded and I was kinda wishing for hamburger at that point. Third was the BEST and our FAVORITE thing in the whole meal. The coleslaw. Kinda wish I would have just ordered a Large Coleslaw and some beans. Would have...
