I met Paul 8 years ago when I needed a specific repair to my grandmother's rare green diamond wedding ring. He walked me through many options explained everything in great detail. The pricing was considerably less and the quality of craftsmanship was considerably higher! My future son-in-law asked me to help him pick out rings for my daughter and we went straight to see Paul at Merrillville Jewelers! Paul explained everything showing us 4 different diamonds that met our criteria along with several baskets, bands and options to design the ring! This man needs a lesson on how to properly speak to his customers, or shut his business down. During the Spring season I had a layaway, and decided to cancel after finding cheaper prices elsewhere. To make a long story short he showed his true colors after I decided to cancel saying these exact words "Next time do your research and do not waste my time". I could've argued with the guy but it would be more wise to leave a review so everyone can see it. It last longer this way. I tried supporting local businesses but I'd rather deal with a wholesaler, create my own business, or support local corporate business and pay extra for the good customer service instead of dealing with this guy. He shows his true colors when you don't want to do...

I cannot begin to express how phenomenal Merrillville Jewelers is. The service is outstanding and the people are so warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The atmosphere is family-like. And then there's their product... Amazing quality and a beautiful selection! The jewelry they carry is unique and original... Not like chain jewelers which sell hundreds and thousands of the same product. I actually had Merrillville Jewelers redesign a blue diamond ring for me and it exceeded my expectations...
