Remo's Catering — Local services in Ross Township

Our experience with Remos for our wedding was very good. They provided a customized menu at a good price. One small complaint is the intermittent communication at the start, which got better as time progressed.

Remos provided food for our 90 person wedding. We wanted a pig roast with Southern-themed appetizers and sides. Remos stood out because of their willingness to do customized sides (notably, a fried green tomato caprese salad). The initial contact and interaction by email was slow and a little frustrating, but picked up and stabilized once we connected directly to Larry. We visited their restaurant space and tasted potential options. The chef had prepared a sample of the above-mentioned caprese salad and came out to discuss with us. He seemed genuinely interested in making something that we wanted, which was much appreciated, and used our input for the final design.

For the cocktail hour, we had boiled peanuts (a custom request), hush puppies, and the caprese salad. All good. The servers circulated well around our large outdoor space to make sure that everyone got their fill. The pig was cooked on-site and our guests were able to see it before it was carved. The meat was pulled and served with three bbq sauces. The pork was tender, flavorful, and plentiful. Remos also provided a chimichurri marinated grilled tofu that was a delicious non-meat option. The pork and tofu were served buffet style. The sides were served family style and were all vegetarian: collard greens, succotash, and corn bread. All good. The collards would have been better with the standard preparation using a bit of meat, but we wanted to be inclusive for the many non-meat eaters. There was also mac and cheese for kids. There was barely any food left, suggesting that the people were happy.

The Remos crew on site were friendly, circulated well but didn’t get in the way, and attentive to our guests. They handled a one-hour delay on the dinner with no issues.

I contracted with Remo's for my granddaughter's Bat Mitzvah luncheon. Larry in event sales was very helpful with food suggestions and prompt with information and accessible to answer questions. The linens were gorgeous, although the order was not fulfilled correctly when I picked them up. Remo's staff were very obliging and picked up and delivered the missing linens promptly. The table settings were beautiful, with our choice of napkin colors. The premium plasticware place settings were lovely. The coffee service was good. Best of all - all the food was excellent! (our entrees were bourbon-glazed salmon over rice, and cheese stuffed shells; sides were mixed veggies, parsley potatoes and green tossed salad; rolls.) The catering staff on site were WONDERFUL to work with - professional, clean, accommodating, prompt to refill dishes, ample number of staff, and were really nice people.
