I purchased a pair of boots on 03/11/2023 and tried to exchange the boots for a different boot model, same brand of boot, just a different model ( a model they currently carry in store, they just didn't have my size 12 in stock) I was told they would have to order it in and that I would have to pay a special order fee and shipping to get it in. I was a bit surprised as this was a boot line they currently carried and I decided to forego the extra charges and just do a return. When I went to go return the boot I explained that they did not have what I needed to exchange and that I wanted to just return the boot. I was then advised that I would be charged a 10% restocking fee to cover the credit charge that the business incurred every time a card was swiped through their machine. Now I have managed an outdoor retail store before and currently run my own business and I can tell you that the average charge that a credit processor charges is 1.5% - 3.5% of PURCHASES not all transactions(i.e returned merchandise). So the Infinity is either fleecing their customers or running poor business model and having the customer foot the bill for it. On top of that they will probably resell the boot since all I did was take it hope and try it on. When I pushed back on this 10% restocking fee the customer service representative said that "most business are doing this now a days" to which I replied that I have been in this industry for the better part of a decade and have not seen this and that this was a poor business practice. I try to support local "Mom and Pop" business, but if this is the common practice I can see the allure of online shopping from vendors like Amazon. The icing on the cake was when I finally acquiesced to pay the 10% restocking fee and the customer service rep tried to ring it through the cash register, the computer system tried to charge me 11% restocking fee. After some simple math we had to agree to manually override the system for 10%. So if you shop with Infinity and have to return something CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS. 1% may not seem like a lot but if multiple people are charged it adds up to a nice little profit to the business. I am not sure if I will shop here again, but if I do it won't be for a while and definitely won't be for something I can't take directly to the manufacture for service....

The prices I feel are a bit pricey when you think of it as being part of the "A to Z" chain. I specifically went in search of 3 items only to find 1, laser bore sight .223 cal, and it was double the price as I can get from a local competitor and/ or online merchant. I paid $39.99, before taxes, for the bore sight and I believe they have a 30 day return policy but don't quote me on that but I think that is what the cashier told me when I asked. Here's my dilemma, I normally would choose to support local businesses but when the price is almost twice as much and the return policy is a third of what I can get online or name brand merchant, why spend that extra money when I would rather wait for online ordering or just go to let's say Academy. The staff was very helpful and I would say knowledgeable to the extent of what I needed and the store was very clean. Bottom line, If you walk in thinking that your going to get a steal or a deal because of it belonging to the A to Z chain, you will be disappointed as I was.
