LONG DETAILED REVIEW
Took my car in for a standard wheel bearing repair on a Thursday and was promised Iād have it back same day or next because my wife was very pregnant. Called back at the end of day, turns out a bolt was broken but stuck on the vehicle during repair and had to be cut or removed. They waited to order parts till they could remove the bolt and had to ask another mechanic to come help, so they didnāt even order parts they already needed until the next Monday. Which caused further delays. Alright fair enough. I may not understand procedure. But when I gave feedback and asked for more communication I was flippantly told to just call an ambulance, as if I just have $5,000 for that bill. No apology or attempt to make it right and the disregard for my circumstances was very disappointing.
Iām living in an Airbnb down the street while my local home is going through a major repair. Many, many other things have gone wrong and the auto shop isnāt responsible for my lifeās circumstances. But being dismissive of them and making excuses for not doing the job as promised is very concerning and predatory. I also had to call them every single time to get updates as they never reached out to me.
Then when they finally got the repair done nearly 2 weeks later and they tried to charge me for more brand new parts they broke and ordered without my consent because they said the work would have to be done regardless. But they didnāt bother to ask me and I couldāve refused or taken my car elsewhere, instead they broke my car and tried to force me to let them repair it for more money. In North Carolina, this is against the law to charge a customer more than $350 over the prior agreed price without asking ahead of time. So they bought a used part instead, in order to avoid overcharging me, but charge me as much as they could without breaking the law, extremely dishonest and predatory since they knew my position and knew I would have to pay. I didnāt debate it because I didnāt have time since my wife went into labor.
On top of that I specifically explained the car doesnāt lock normally and you have to double check it. They didnāt. My car was broken into and I had valuable tools stolen. On top of everything else that mistake (which they claim they arenāt liable for theft) really makes it clear that they donāt care. They initially told me that they would give me camera footage to give to police but in the end of this decided to be petty and...
