Chisago County FairGrounds — Local services in Rush City

The Rush City community (and surrounding) really turn out to support this annual event. Free entry is nice, lots of free parking available (some paid lots).

The Motocross dirt bike racing event by BCMX (18 July 2024) was very exciting and drew the largest crowd. That's what really brought me here because of course it's compelling for photography. Starting at 4pm with contestant enrollments and races beginning at 7pm -- until 9pm, this warm sunny blue sky afternoon rewarded with beautiful light for about an hour before a glorious gold and red sunset signalled day's end.

Fair layout, organization and operations were all to a high standard, the grounds were impressively clean with many amenities scattered conveniently and always nearby. Standard collection of food stalls and coney island rides. Tons of families and kids turnout to support. Great location on Hwy 35N about 60 miles north of Saint Paul...

First time there this year, different from the cities bc of the animals they have there for kids to see, Feels like the state fair for sure. Parking is 5$ but entrance is free. Rides for kids are reasonable points to ride. And I love that the lines for foods are short unlike the cities where you'll have to wait forever. Had a great time. Will go...
