First, this store is a franchise store, not an AT&T owned store, so they do not have access to all the deals that the company stores do, not are they aware of them. When we learned this, and the sales person could not fully search the deals or verify the deal we asked about, we ended the transaction to go to another location. Unfortunately, since he had started it, our phone was shut off and its services moved to the phone we looked at, but did not buy. We live 20 minutes from the store. Tried to call, the phone simply rang, so we had to drive back to the Tamaqua store. We were told our sales person was busy. I asked about the phone, and one of the sales persons went and checked and the phone was off the hook. Once the issue was explained to this person, she called the sales person from the back. Rather than have to drive back to Lehighton, we asked for a comp of say screen saver for our trouble and loss of time, but were told they are not allowed to comp anything. Also while there waiting the woman with the glasses, who curtly put the phone back on its receiver and never even offered an apology or any kind of concern was there chatting with her friends who were not customers about her urinary infection. SO just sort of a hangout for her friends while she worked. In the end, after wasting a total of an hour, the issue was fixed. And the young man that did help us was committed too fixing it, but again, no really sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. To the task, and get us out with a "Have a nice day" I see alot of positive reviews and I am sure they they do fine when everything goes fine, but I do also see, that if you have an issue, you can expect no special care. They love ya when they sell to you, otherwise, you are kinda interrupting their day. Unless you are friend of the sales person and there to discuss your...
Read moreDaughter was looking to move from Consumer Cellular back to AT&T, purchase an iPhone 13 Pro Max with and move back to an AT&T plan in addition to purchasing the latest iPad Pro. Initially they said her current number could be ported from Consumer Cellular back to AT&T. After forty five minutes of identity verification, number crunching etc.they determined her number could not be ported back to AT&T. I called Consumer Cellular customer service who were more than willing to port the number back and issued a PIN to do so. The people in the Tamaqua store said it was not possible. They wanted to issue a new number, which you may know is a real PIA to notify contacts and business associates of the change. I called Consumer Cellular AGAIN and asked if there was a problem on their end. Nope, it was all on the AT&T side. They needed to open a support ticket with their people and fix it through their support team. Apparently the Tamaqua staff were unaware or unable to do this. My daughter was tired of wasting her afternoon dealing with these people and left. Total indifference to customers. Their loss of a nice 2K plus sale for the day. Got the Apple devices from another source in about fifteen minutes online. Not a good experience at the store....
Read moreDalton basically committed highway robbery. I came to the store with an active straightalk phone, and asked if it could be changed over to AT and T, and whether I could keep my phone number. . He checked my phone, said it wasn't locked and said yes I could change it over to AT and T. I gave him my debit card, and was charged over $60.00 to transfer to AT and T. He then checked my phone, and it wouldnt work, and he said it couldn't be changed over to AT and T. He then told me bacause my phone was a prepaid phone he could not refund my money. He said there was nothing he could do because his store was not a corporate store, but private. When I demanded my refund he threatened to call the police. As this store is not a corporate AT and T store, I would not recommend it to anyone. As it is not bound by corporate AT and T rules or policies and terms. Dalton should be fired. He should have made sure my phone's worked before charging my debit card for a service he could not provide, to then say I'm out of my money, I can't get a refund. Now I'm pursuing this claim before a magistrate. Everyone, don't go...
