Game Trader — Local services in Sacramento

I'll start this review by saying I hate Gamestop. Decided to give this store a shot because there aren't enough competing game stores and I'm sick of Gamestop. Well the prices are higher, but its a mom & pops game store so I wasn't thrown off by the slight increase in price, what really threw me off was the terrible customer service. I've got decent service from 2 guys up there but the owner and another one just made me decide I'm better of going to the corporate game store. I purchased a ps3 controller from the store for $29.99, it was a knockoff, and when I found a dual shock 3 on CL for a few bucks a couple days down the road I decided to sell the controller back. There offer, a measly $3 store credit and $1.50 cash LMAO, oh and to add salt to the wound they talked about how its a knock off and had terrible battery life in my face, like they weren't the ones who sold it to me. I took it to gamestop and got $15 bucks. I decided to give them one more shot and when i went back the owner was there, after listening to him rip some kid out of an extra buck or two, I decided to ask him about the controllers and let him know what I was told about them, he proceeded to pretend I was speaking a foreign language and thats how the cookie crumbles. I won't be shopping there again, if I want terrible customer service I could do better at gamestop. In their credit I will say they have a large amount of vintage video games and older systems, but they aren't organized in any fashion and the whole store could use a couple days of...

My two boys and I stopped in this location while we were in the Sacramento area. The shop keeper Keith was a very polite knowledgeable man. He helped assist me in all the items I was interested in and even had a smile after I asked him to pull out multiple games in the display cases. I told him I was in town for my wife’s hospital visit at nearby U.C.Davis, he seemed concerned about her well being and offered us a 20% discount for being a first time customer. I like to support small business. They have great customer service and knowledgeable employees. I will make this my first stop for purchasing BRAND NEW GAMES. Not the place to shop for used games. I have purchased more used games here that don't work then I have ones that do. I can't say if they test them before selling them or if they just don't care. They follow their 7 day exchange policy without a problem (I have exchanged plenty of games). There is still a high chance that game might not play either. Great customer service cheap prices but bad with used games. They need to be more picky about what games they buy...
