Backpack Giveaway Event August 2025 I first want to say I appreciate the school supplies, festivities and refreshments for the kids. I appreciate a few people that made the environment peaceful and let us all waiting feel welcomed. The nice lady wearing the hot pink shirt that opened the event with a prayer (Hurlette), the nice gentleman in the red shirt regulating the refreshment table, who ran to grab water for my baby when he got sick from being too hot. Also the nice lady in the long-sleeved green shirt also running the refreshment table who showed concern for my baby after he got sick from the heat. I do want to say there was one lady that made it unpleasant and her snarky remarks throughout the event turned people's attitudes in a negative way and a lot of us felt "looked down upon" or judged. Lady in the black shirt carrying around the towel trying to regulate different areas. 1st the event said starts at 1pm, for she made us wait until 1:30 because "people ain't just gonna get the backpacks and leave". Then the kids were on a 5 minute timer in the bounce house, her snarky rude comments weren't necessary the whole event. Things like "wow now if I could only get this turn out for church tomorrow" or "Im never doing this again, its too many people here". Also my autistic 6 yr old threw up because of waiting in the heat so long and instead of showing concern she got an attitude and said "wow, did he throw up". Her negativity the whole time made it sour for a lot of the people there, otherwise everyone else was nice and the event was nice. A place with SOME godly genuine people giving back to the...
