Walgreens — Local services in Saint Augustine

Historically I have received excellent service here. But today, I was informed by the pharmacist (new guy) here that according to cdc guidelines that I was not eligible to receive PCV21, even with my doctors recommendation. I informed the pharmacist that his information was out of date or incorrect and I could drive home and get the cdc guidelines, and he responded to me "go ahead", which I did. I arrived back at the store and showered him the CDC website and the recommendation from the cdc app which proved that I was eligible for the shot (two sources). After telling me to drive home and get the information he stated: "I told you I was not going to give you the shot". It's the drive back home that bothers me more than anything, it was simply for his entertainment. I'm all about protecting patients but there has to be some common sense when offered conflicting information directly from the CDC. After 8 months of getting prescriptions filled here. I was notified by the pharmacy that I was red flagged on my pain medication because my doctor wasn’t within a 50 mile radius of the pharmacy. I have been with the same neurologist for 9 years through 6 surgeries highly reputable surgeon! But because I would not change doctors closer to where I lived they Refused to fill the prescription! Anyone suffering with nerve damage or any other pain involving prescription pain medication take note! If you cannot find a doctor near your home within a 50 mile radius even though you may not care for the Doctor’s or want to transfer to them. You will be RED FLAGED by Walgreens! Holy schmoley! My experience at this store was one for the books! It all started when I walked in the store and the young man working on the floor, Zack, welcomed me in and asked if I needed any help. I have a speech impediment and am an immigrant learning English, so initially it was hard to tell him what I needed help with. Eventually Zack opted for a translator app which was very smart and helped me right away! Will definitely be transferring my prescriptions to here from the CVS down the street which were very rude and unproductive especially in the pharmacy! Not to mention, the store smells terrible!
