Holmes Homes build a quality home and couldn't be happier with the results and follow-through from their entire team!
It all started with our agent introducing us to AJ, one of the best builder agents I met in Desert Color as I was deciding who to go with for my St. George home. Very knowledgeable on designs, costs, and layouts of the lots available in Desert Color. Holmes Homes has some good ones left on the border of Arizona! He wrote up a contract quickly that met all my needs in stipulations.
The design phase started from a model Harmony SFH with Holmes Homes offering a variety of finishings from their design center and Jamie (who was awesome to work with) offered creative suggestions and had very good attention to every detail.
Throughout the construction, communication was good with room for improvement. We received regular updates from AJ, including photos as was building from another state. Any questions we had were addressed promptly from AJ and the Holmes team. The team was always courteous, respectful of our property, and allowed us to check in throughout various stages.
The quality of the craftsmanship from foundation to framing show with straight lines inside the house. Every room, every finish, and every detail was very well done. If it wasn't the GC Kevin was on-top of it to repair or replace the item.
Like any project, the more questions you ask and details you guide meet your expectations when building a house. Holmes Homes match my expectations and completed the project on to the communicated schedule.
We’re thrilled with our new home and can confidently say that Holmes Homes was a good choice. If you’re looking for a builder who combines quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service. I highly...

I bought a home in Southern, Utah, and the experience has been nothing short of a disaster. The quality of craftsmanship is atrocious, and the entire process was riddled with issues. • Cabinets: Had to visit the design center an additional two times because the builder couldn’t manage their suppliers and I had to change cabinet design the day of signing! Even now, the cabinets are terrible quality, and poorly painted with residue everywhere. • HVAC: I’ve already spent $1,500 on HVAC repairs in less than two years, with zero help or accountability from the builder. • Windows: There are literal holes in the window seals, and the builder refuses to fix them. • Construction Process: Communication was abysmal, and price negotiations during a housing recession were nonsensical. They even built the exact same floor plan right next to my house. When I wanted to back out, they refused unless I forfeited my $100k earnest money. • Major Mistakes: They forgot a garage side door, plumbed a bathroom drain in the middle of a hallway, and laid crooked flooring. Landscaping and quality expectations led to arguments with the foreman where we felt belittled. • Concrete Issues: Cracks in the front walkway are extensive—far beyond “normal” wear—yet they refused to fix them.
While they’ve addressed warranty issues, it’s clear they’re selective about what they’ll fix. Overall, this was an awful experience, with horrendous craftsmanship, poor customer service, and a builder that refuses to stand behind their work. I will never buy from them again, and you...
Read moreWe rented a condo for the week and the accommodation were fine. However, the real problem was the Desert Color's policy regarding storms. If there is a thunderstorm within 15 miles, they lock you out of the Lagoon and pool. Nor do they allow you to play in the sand and just stay out of the water. 15 miles is seriously excessive. Be aware of this if you have a trip coming up with questionable weather. Have back up plans because if there is even a chance, you aren't using the amenities...
