I booked four services to have a special mother/daughter day. Our experience was somewhat mixed. First, I will preface my honest comments by saying from making our appointment, to checking in to our appointments to each service person - everyone was very welcoming and kind. The front desk person at check in was particularly pleasant. My massage was honestly not up to par by a long shot however. I got the sense maybe this person was unaccustomed to doing them? There was no discussion about what type of massage or what kind of pressure I would like. Although he did ask if I had any problem areas and I told him my shoulder. It was the softest massage I have ever had and I have had a lot to compare it to. In all honesty it did not remotely like a typical massage I have had anywhere else - around the world even. In fairness - I did not tell him to do it firmer as it was so odd - I didnāt think he was a true massage therapist. I probably should have spoken up and that is my bad. So, while he was very nice - it was disappointing and I would not go back for this particular service. Also, at times the noise level was very high. I asked at one point if we were by the break room and he said the shampoo bowls were right outside the room and due to the noise of doing that service - the people talk loudly to communicate. Not conducive to a relaxing experience. I walked out of the service not feeling like I just had a massage at all. However, he was a very nice person. My daughterās manicure experience was ok but the service provider said, she normally does hair and had never done a manicure on someone beforeā¦.what?? I am thinking my massage guy perhaps was really a haircare provider that stepped in to do a massage but that is not his wheelhouse area. We both had facials and that experience was quite good. She is talented and definitely had a lot of expertise on skincare. The style of the rooms for the facial and massage were very nice inside and well appointed - so kudos for whoever styled them - well done! So, in a nutshell - our impression was that Accolades strong wheelhouse is hair services, and that is their bread and butter service line. Massage and nails - not so much - although they offer them to show-a full suite of options. So, if getting nails done or a massage - I would go elsewhere. But again, very nice staff. So - it was a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really happy and excited for my birthday they gave me a good discount however, it was the first time I got hair service I usually go there for a massage service. I got a root touch up but it did not go well I went from a golden blond, which I loved and did not want to change to a dark brown I trusted the stylist who suggested that she will mix two colors to bring up my color. I trusted her SHE is the PROFESSIONAL. I guess you can PAY to ruin your hair I am not happy at all I will never do my hair there again I don't even know what to do with my hair now and I have to wait for at least six weeks to change it. I just have to go to my hair lady that I have been going to for years I was just trying something, different for my birthday, which did not go well. However, loved the massage and facial service I got Place is nice and clean except for the lack of diversity Its all Caucasians, I've been going there for years they offer tea, coffee, water mostly to their Caucasian customers I had to ask for my tee. Everyoneās experience is different because, we all are different their workers act like they never seen a black person in their life. They give this fake Minnesota Nice smile and Iām like donāt give me your fake smile give me a good service for my hard earned money Iām PAYING for it. Nonetheless, they ask for a feedback but no manager got back to me after I expressed my disappointment of receiving a bad hair service what is the point of asking for a feedback if they do not improve their service???? I love Aveda products and I spend a lot of MONEY on it and I also go there to get service not with my sister. Itās supposed to be a place people feel extra beautiful and pampered it can be stressful sometimes because of how some of the workers treat some customers. The truth is that I loved Accolades Salon few years back and I do not even go as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit: Received an email from Paige, the manager of this location. She was very professional, courteous, and apologized for my experience. She offered a full refund and invited me to come back for a complimentary service should I return to Saint Paul. I greatly appreciated the excellent customer service I received from Paige. A full refund was received and I am left feeling better about the experience - even though my hair was a disaster for the concert. Amending my star rating from 1 to 3 due to the refund and apology. Thank you!
Worst experience I have had in a salon.
Receptionist was friendly and kind.
Went while on a very special trip to see my favorite band perform. Note that I don't do this often, and having my hair done special was a huge treat to myself. Shannon was my stylist. I tried to initiate conversation with her, and she wasn't very personable.
When it came to my hair, I explained my hair is very stubborn and doesnt hold curl well. I told her I would need lots of product to guarantee hold. I told her I wanted volume in my hair as well..
I was booked for an hour. I was out in 35ish minutes. Had slight curl, little to no hairspray to hold it I asked if she got my cowlick , she said yes... but didn't bother to show me or offer to show me the back of my hair. I didn't get to look until I was in my hotel getting ready for the concert. The curl was gone and my cowlicks were extremely noticeable. Absolutely zero volume.
Overall, it felt rushed and like she didn't care this was special for me. Extremely disappointed and disheartened. I left a nice tip, too, out of kindness.
Do not go here. Pick somewhere else.
Would like at least a partial refund. I sent pictures to an email provided by phone, but have had...
