We took a morning eco-tour for my mother’s birthday and she absolutely loved it! We really enjoyed the relaxation & cool breeze from the water! Both the naturalist & the Captain were very knowledgeable (& super friendly!) We saw a group of Manatee swimming and learned about them as well as seeing/learning about a variety of birds (also learned about alligators vs. crocodiles) They have a skeleton from a horseshoe crab as well as an alligator head which you can touch. They also share photos of the inside of a beautiful home that you will pass on the tour, which has an interesting history (I won’t spoil it by describing any of the home’s unique history on here!) You have a choice of ordering a breakfast when booking but due to the current Covid concerns, we didn’t order the meal this time- but another group did and it looked great! Regardless of whether you order the meal, they also sell waters & sodas on board. The boat was extremely clean and they supply hand sanitizer and are capping capacity at half (at 10 passengers) for the time being to allow for social distancing (they also said they spray down the boat between tours) I was impressed at how clean and shiny the white railings were- you could really tell they keep their boat well maintained. I definitely plan to also take their sunset cruise in the future, but I was concerned about evening storms interfering at this time of year since that is the typical weather pattern for Fl during summer. I initially chose Latitudes Tours because they are located in Ruskin- which is closer to home for me and a lot less stressful than driving to Tampa, but I ended up enjoying this tour more than a tour I previously took out of Tampa, so that was a very pleasant surprise! I definitely recommend Latitudes Tours & will be taking more trips with them in the future. It will also be a great trip to take our out-of-town family when they...
Read moreDave offer us a tour, ask that i left a tip, my daughter accidentally gave 104 , a 100 bill and 4 dollars instead of 14 tip, and i called and ask about it as soon and i realized i called Dave's number, Dave's mates number, and Dave's wife, Nancy, number. Dave said that he could not meet you until 2:00 and I patiently waited until that time drove all these way from Tampa back to Dave and Nancy home. Only to realize you would only give me 1/2 of the money back. But my daughter expressed to Dave that she has a reading impediment that causes her to read number a certain way and mistakenly gave Dave a far greater tip than most would have. Dave offered the tour because we didn't get into our room until 4am, so DAVE offered the tour because we technically payed for a day we didn't stay there. The place was over 200 dollars a night, and Dave owns the touring company. So he connects the tour and the Airbnb together. Which is why he offered. While at out stay the Wi-Fi was down and the TV depends on Wi-if. Also, the key's partially worked so my daughter had to use the stairs to let us in because her grandmother has a balance problem. Overall my experience was less than ideal. However the place was described as is and was very clean. My problem comes with the owners. I striped the bed of the linens ,and Dave complained about that I wanted to ensure he cleaned them for...
Read moreI was recently in the Tampa area with my daughter and her family, and she had booked this evening tour w Latitudes. We were a bit early after a rain, and Alexis was still wiping the boat down. We got in and took our seats and the tour began soon after. We found Alexis to be very friendly and entertaining, as well as informative. Captain Dave was great about his knowledge of the history of the bay and of the locals. You could tell he was a conservationist and had passion about his life in this region. We had great music while onboard, and they recognized my daughter and her husband's 20th wedding anniversary. Our youngest granddaughter, who is a high energy two-year-old, was able to have fun with us on the boat, due to Alexis and her way with children. All in all, I enjoyed this evening tour. My husband and I live in Missouri, and we learned so many things about Florida and the natural environment there. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event for us, and one we...
