What can I say? Alot. My son booked a charter trip for me, him and his best friend recently. It was a surprise birthday gift for me. It was the best birthday gift I've received, honestly. I grew up fishing on the coast in Texas and the Corpus Christi Bay, my whole young life, with my dad, and so did my son as he grew. I've lived in Florida now 5 years and basically work and go home, so I've abandoned fishing, which is sad, I know. I am recommending Tampa Bay Fishing Charters for so many reasons: affordability, personal attention during the trip, knowledgeable captains, and the list goes on. Even writing this review, I'm taken back to the awesome 6 hours we had. We went out on the 8am-2pm trip with our two guys (i knew i was going to forget your names 😪 but it was 9/12/24), and it was the best day ever! They were so knowledgeable about the fish we were going for, explained the area and where to cast, how to maximize catch potential and just down to earth and all around great guys. They provided the tackle, live bait, and ice for our drinks. We fished many areas, and one of the things I appreciated is that if we weren't successful within about 20 minutes, the captain was moving us. I really felt like our time was respected, and they did everything to ensure our day was packed with fun, memories, and fish!!! They were so awesome about describing the habitats we were fishing and explaining the rules and regulations for each species. My son REALLY loved the fact that they were up and out catching our bait before our trip, which means they didn't use our time for that. Anyway, I could go on and on. 10 out of 10!!!! From booking to eating, Captain Carl, Captain Oliver and First mate Chris did an awesome job.

OUR GROUP: Two adults and two kids (age 10-11) (+)Capt. Oliver and Chris were great with the kids and kept them active and entertained. (+) I honestly don’t think I can say enough how great they were with the kids…truly made for a great experience!!!!

GEAR: All we brought were some waters, snacks and a camera. Capt. Oliver said he usually takes photos but my wife didn’t fish so she took photos. (+)Capt. Oliver’s boat was clean, rods were ready to go and in great condition. (+)Bait was in the live well and ready for fishing.

FISHING: We got to the boat slick early and Capt. Oliver and Chris were ready to go. They got us on the water and off we went to our first fishing stop (short 15-minute run). From the moment the first bait hit the water till we pulled up we had bent rods. Capt. Oliver and Chris kept our lines in the water with fresh bait and ensured we had the best opportunity at fish, had our limit of Spanish mackerel in about an hour an half. After limiting out on mackerel we moved over a sunken shrimp boat and let the kids “play” with some Athletic Spearfish. After a little “play” we took about a 20-minute run to some sand flats and caught well over 2-dozen snook. Needless to say we kept Capt. Oliver and Chris busy, at time we even had three fish on!

In the end Capt. Oliver and Chris cleaned up the fish perfectly. We took them over the hook and cook next to the boat slip and enjoyed out catch.

Great experience, I know we were blessed with a great fishing day. But I feel Capt. Oliver and Chris enhanced the trip truly making it 10...

Went out this week with Tampa Fishing Charters. Oliver runs the business and helped us get booked, gave us time to decide without being excessive, and was awesome to talk to. We started our first day with Rocky and Chris who did their best to brave the weather but we had a big storm come and had to head back within the first half hour. They were super professional and didn’t charge us for the flop, but instead worked with us on a time that would be good to try again.

We left out the next morning with Phil and Cam and man oh man. Absolutely gorgeous to be on the water in the morning. If you’re willing to wake up you could make the bait run, but we were checking out that day and didn’t have the time sadly. Phil and Cam were extremely personable, answered all of my saltwater ignorant questions, and stood out for making the trip more than just fishing, but a well informed tour of Tampa Bay. We would have had fun with these guys if we hadn’t caught anything at all, but that wasn’t the case. Phil and Cam put us on fish on our first cast and it didn’t slow much after that. We caught a bounty of Spanish Mackerel, a few good fighting Snook, and Mangrove Snapper.

We saw several dolphins, and not just a dolphin fin or two but real dolphins jumping out of the water and chasing prey. It was exciting. We saw sea turtles, manatee, schools of spade fish, several Sting Ray, and a multitude of fish I’ve never seen.

I wish I could fish with these guys every weekend. Would love to go back and if we ever make it back down we will definitely be back out with Tampa Fishing Charters.
