Verdict: Great little furniture store, with some secrets hidden inside!
First thing, Prices. This was a this month only sale when I went, but either way the prices were excellent even without the sale. Some of the magazines and books I got there were fairly priced and had heavy discounts, due to a month exclusive 75% off on all items aside from handmade items, all furniture being 20% off, and everything below $20 being $1. Great prices, and a lot was on sale aside from what I was after.
Second, the selection was very catered towards almost everything including furniture, books, comics, games, technology, and some neat other things. I saw a bunch of cool little things that I bet my friends would kill to see, like lionel trains, and some neat books for my literature enjoyer friends.
Third, employees there were amazing. I didn't get their names, but both visits had a great owner and cashier. They gave me a nice run down of the whole store, and told me all the discounts the second I got inside. They were even so nice to ask me if they would be able to hold anything I wanted to get, and if there was no price on something, they could get the prices for us...

It is 75% off everything over $20. Furniture is 20% off. Most of the time she also does everything under $20 for a $1. I’m not sure if the original prices are left over from when it first opened, or if they still price high but have a constant sale going, that part is unclear. I think it’s the latter, so they can continue to clear out overpriced items without confusion. There’s WAY too much here for them to change individual tags. At any rate, the owner Corinna is super nice and helpful so just ask if youre not sure.
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because there’s alot of inventory that’s been there forever, and instead of clearing it out to make way for new stuff, the new stuff gets added in. It’s incredibly full, with probably tens of thousands of items, so if you’re a regular customer it can be hard to find freshly added items.
The sheer volume of stuff can be overwhelming, so if you’re not into the hunt it may not be the...
Read moreI am a frequent window shopper at New Beginnings and find it a fun place to browse and redecorate my home. I have made several purchases over the years and have been happy with all of them. You cannot judge what is inside by the outside of the building. When you get in the door it is so tastefully set up, you can wander around the 3 floors at your leisure. Its cool and peaceful in the summer, warm and inviting in the winter. I will have to say I love a bargain and you can find them here. I have been to many consignment shops through out New England and this one is tops on my list. If you want something specific and don't find it, put your name in the wish list book. Check here first when you are in the market for furniture- there are some really special pieces and you might just find what you have been looking for. I am glad I live in town so I can stop by often. Thanks for such a great...
