Even though recently upgrading the aesthetic facade of this franchise venue, the store owners' appear to be up to their same old tricks that we all know AND LOATHE from our fiendishly neighborHOOD grocer. Please expect sales to be of food soon to become past due. Please closely inspect all fresh fruit as it generally is "buyer-beware" I have encountered hidden moldy raspberries and strawberries a number of different occasions (especially at the Tilghman road branch.) More than one time I have been flat cold denied a refund of same fruit in question. When did the customer become a suspect? Am I not allowed to demand fresh food for my family? This particular branch of Food Lion seems to also struggle with keeping viable labor on site and in stead suggests we take advantage of "self checkouts" which honestly is my preferred modality yet when I go to another upper crust grocer (cough cough wink ahem ACME cough wink nudge wink) I experience how a grocer should provide adequate labor AND upgraded modern self check outs (FOOD LIONS should take a note on how to treat customers via self check OUT AS WE ARE NOT THIEVES nor idiots YET are treated as such) The shiny fresh new upgraded facade seems to have increased the prices of all my preferred brands. I would hope that a negative review might help a store owner revise refine their best practices or at least somethings to consider. Seemingly, I encounter more and more negative shopping experiences at my local Tilghman rd Food Lion and despite these grevous problems cited over and over the patrons of such a store keep returning. Why? Because we all exist in a food desert. A void of malnutrition. A problem with perhaps.no.solution?. Sometimes we persist because it is affordable and sometimes we persist because it is convenient and for shame! Truly the people of our community deserve better food!. (Also please refrain from all High Fructose Corn Syrup aka Corn Sugar aka Corn Syrup in all your store...
Read moreI love this place. You can always find something here that the big box stores don't have. It is always a very clean well-stocked place, their fruits and vegetables look wonderful in the produce section which is also very well stocked and clean. The savings on this store are amazing with your MVP card. Access to the merchandise is easy even for the handicapped. Great beer and wine selections. The butchers always have the leanest cuts of meat. Also something here for the Vegans and Vegetarians... AGAIN, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The store is always a little more costly and the fact that prices have risen quite a bit for goods and services means that if you don't have an MVP card for Food Lion it's going to cost you quite a bit more to shop here. However they do mail out coupons for free products and reduced products plus to use the MVP card make it much more palatable to shop here. Thank you Food Lion for the discounts. Puts it in more price point with discounted grocery stores. It is always clean, from the aisles to the bathrooms to the checkouts to the grocery carts always seem to be taken care of. Unlike Walmart they do keep their parking lot clear of carts. Using coupons this week I saved OVER $35 IN ONE VISIT. SEE THE POSTED RECEIPT. THE DISCOUNTS WERE...
Read moreI am a sr citizen and do one large shopping a month. Three times while shopping, I was approached and asked if they could help me. There was one item on the shelf that I needed more than was there. I asked a gentleman for help. He graciously brought me items from the back of the store. The clerk at checkout was very pleasant the entire time. I had a very large order and she got someone to help load my groceries in my vehicle. I was very grateful especially since it was raining. The man helping me seemed happy to be outside loading my items even though he was soaking wet! I left the store with everything I needed and the service...
