Even though it is a bit of a distance as far as the drive is concerned and the prices are moderately higher than they would be on the shore, it's usually worth the trip. Let's face it, Accomack County and Northampton County are pretty limited when it comes down to selection. Yes, we have a few small department stores, but when it comes down to the real nitty-gritty, a good portion of us opt to take the drive - especially during the holidays. Unfortunately for most of us we have to make a day of it because the drive is about 3 hours ( 90 minutes each way.) Yesterday, I shopped at Food Lion here so I could consolidate shopping with going to Ollie's for a heater. I picked up my usual groceries, which included Milk, ice cream and other cold foods. There are a variety of quick food choices, with McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts at the entrance, pizza, and Chinese. At the far end are a dollar store and Ollie's, seller of many useful things from sheets to tools. There is plenty of parking, but a few more handicapped spots wouldn't hurt.
