I visited this cemetery after Mt Olivet’s and this was also very large and a great place for a walk. We paid respects at the dedication to the unknown dead. From what I understand, Utah had some Japanese internment camps. I’m glad there is a quiet honoring to them. It is kind of hidden along the back but, it’s still very beautiful. I was also shown a famous Utah grave of Lilly E Gray. Some baby witches had left gifts for her Im assuming because of her strange headstone ingraving. Very happy to see nothing was defaced. This cemetery was so large I did not spend a lot of time here as I had already took a large stroll with my nephew and sis at Mt. Olivet. I look forward to getting to know this one a bit more.

My 15 year old nephew asked if we could go visit Salt Lake City while I was visiting from California. With the exception of Riverside County's Veterans Cemetery, I have never seen a cemetery this large and well kept. It was very obvious that many of the grave sites are still maintained not only by grounds staff, but by family members generations later. I was so touched by the care taken by the staff and the historical significance of some of those laid to rest here. If you plan to visit, wear a good pair of walking shoes and bring some water. To say the grounds are huge would be an understatement.

This is a weird statement, but this is my favorite cemetery. I’ve taken youth groups here to find historical figures/church leaders and they have a blast. It’s even a nice place to go for a walk. You’ll even find deer and other wildlife there. Great views as well. It’s a great place to do some work with the FindAGrave app. Be careful if you go in the summer- bring lots of water, it gets hot and there are a lot of hills and inclines.

This is a really nice cemetery. I’ve been buried here for about 30 years now. When I first got here it was a bit cramped but you get used to it after a few years. I brought a lot of my valuables with me (my family thought I was crazy) but I’m glad I did because I literally sleep on my money every night, it’s very luxurious. I always thought tiny homes were kind of a joke but I like mine.

The soil is nice and moist, filled with lots of sub-terranean life. I get visitors every once in a while (usually worms and ants) and they don’t really bother you as long as all your flesh is gone. Mine rotted and shriveled off years ago so they pretty much leave me alone.

It’s VERY quiet (not like some other cemeteries I know) and most people keep to themselves. Every once in a while one of Satan’s angry spirits gets inside someone and gets out, but management is good about stopping them and putting them in the cremo.

Pets are allowed as long as they can fit in with you. There is no additional pet fee which is great. There’s is supposedly a real nice clubhouse close by but I haven’t had a chance to go there yet cause I’m kind of a homebody.

There’s not a lot of light, which for me is great because my eye balls have already rotted out so I can’t see much anyways. We’re really close to some major famous people, but I haven’t seen any of them around yet, most people here keep to themselves.

If I could make one small change, it would be less moaning at night. We have a lot of throat-moaners and it makes it hard to sleep sometimes. I pretend it’s the wind and that really helps.

If you’re looking for a good place to die, this would be my...

I always feel connected to my family who have passed when I go to the SLC Cemetery. I go with others who knee those we visit and tell stories of them while we are there.

My recent visit the cemetery was closed due to so many down trees. There are signs saying enter at your own risk. While there it was clearly evident how many trees were down and the affect of the landscape. You can see all their efforts to remove the trees, but there are so many and will take time to get all the down trees removed. All of them have been cut to the main trunk leaving all the pathways clear. The ground is very uneven and looks like there are many areas where grave stones have sunken. I think that must have been the results from the March 2020 earthquake. You can see the efforts and hard work of...
