During this tough time of where our Nation is experiencing during this time, I desired to consecrate unto my Lord and spend time in His presence. I’ve often spent the time in my prayer closet at home. This weekend I’ve desired to travel to a place different from my normal place of meeting. There have been several times I have come here to pray, reflect and sit in peace and have usually felt welcomed.
Being my second day, I was told this was private property and why was I hear?! Did I know any of the Nuns? This is supposed to be Holy Ground unto God, especially the house of where prayers are rendered day and night and suddenly my presence disturbs you? NEVER, was I asked if I was well or could I be assisted with anything. I was informed that this was private property and the tone of irritation was apparent with Donna who met me. I’m so saddened of this incident and felt as if I was a thief stealing ground from the monetary. Who actually deserves to come here ? Those ho only meets a specific demographics, who have ID that they belong, who have shown themselves to be approved by you? I was absolutely saddened and left bewildered that I have not been treated this way times before. It’s clear that during this time, the under current of the issues of differences isn’t always welcomed as I often believe should be. With these little foxes that spoils the vines keeps us separated. Not once was I asked if I needed anything especially prayer. That isn’t the love Christ that He gives to the saints to display to the world. We must Be aware on how we treat people as you may be entertaining angels unaware!!!
Wow just spoke to Donna and she stated the sister was going to call the police on me. I guess being black on the ground to pray was bit of an issue!! I was never asked what I was there with the exception of barking orders as to who I was! As a black medical professional, all that is going on in our nation, it is a sad situation as to even the most segregated hour proves true to be on God’s holy day that to the core of who we are is how we treat others. That is why sister, priest, whoever you are, we all need the our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us and treat others as to how we would want...
Read moreI had always wanted to visit but was afraid of not being allowed to enter.Last week took a chance to go and ask if I would be allowed to enter and pray, and I was happy when I was buzzed into the chapel for prayer. What a feeling of being there in the presence of our Lord...WOW! I was so overwhelmed 😭, before I left I bought 4 scapula for my family.. I encourage everyone to go by and visit, you will feel so at peace and knowing God is there in the silence as well. Very peaceful and quiet time in prayer.

Read moreI love visiting the Nuns on the hill; they are so positive and comforting-- especially during this mixed up -- negative world! They are so appreciative of my food and monetary donations.I know they pray fervently and incessantly not only for my family and me but for all humanity throughout the world. Our religious communities are keeping us afloat from all woeful atrocities so I try to do my part with praying the rosary daily. May God bless the Discalced Carmelite Nuns...
