We went for father's day....(my first) after my brother in law took me sky diving...(another first).. my wife had never been here and I was excited to take her for a great meal.... and dining experience.. UNFORTUNATELY, that was not the case. I understand it was father's day, and a bit busy, however, 20 years experience in the hospitality business I know that regardless of how busy, once a guest is seated, service, should be on point. Well...it wasn't. We sat, we waited more, then we watched our server do her best to keep with her over seated section. Not her fault, that definitely falls on poor management. But, we overlooked it in anticipation for a great meal...Appetizers were on point, however, the meal arrived substandard to be perfectly honest. Our sides were either over charred ( Brussels sprouts were leafs of burnt remnants of sprouts), and the Mac n cheese was cold....throughout. But this wasn't the icing on the cake. The father's Day gift cards, which I was informed were re available online, and by doing so would receive 60 dollars in free rewards, and the 150 in cards purchased could be used immediately... WAS NOT. Moreover, not only was I not able to use the gift card, I was charged for it...had to pay the 200 bill as well.. and after being hung up on and spending over 40 minutes on with customer service, was told my order was pending and they would review it but I would receive no additional rewards, and asked if why I purchased the gift cards, as well.as did I still want them.... I was, to say at the least, flabbergasted... I was then informed I would receive an email back in 3 days or so with a decision.. A DECISION ABOUT WHAT.. All I wanted was a nice father's day meal and to receive a bonus for attempting to give us a reason to visit on a less busy day... so much for that.. so now I must contest the charges with my bank.. great.. and have that wonderful memory of my first father's day.. THANKS SALTGRASS.... Oh, I did speak with a manager there afterwards, whom was aware of the entire situation, when called back to get assistance , he explained he couldn't promise anything or do anything, but would reach out to someone who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place point blank doesnāt not and could not compete with its neighbor, Texas Roadhouse. Wait at Texas was too long so we popped next door hoping for a similar experience. While we were sat immediately thatās about where the benefits ended. Our server took a while getting to us, I guess there was so confusion we werenāt too sure. First thing we noticed was the pricing. Definitely higher than their neighbor, with even the deals not really being much of a ādealā. We resigned ourselves to paying much more than we usually do for the same thing, and ordered a steak and a plate of ribs. Our appetizer came out and the mozzarella bites were quite yummy! My Caesar salad was also good. However once we got our main meals we were definitely disappointed. My steak while cooked medium rare and clearly red, was extremely tough to eat and lacked seasoning despite me seeing a spice blend rubbed all over. The shrimp it came with were cooked to the point of being hard and rubbery. They were also not deveined which was gross. My husband got a plate of completely dry, unsauced ribs. Absolutely no flavor, no rub, nothing. We called the server back and asked her what was up and she just stared at the plate and said āoh they usually come sauced from the kitchen. Want some sauce on the side?ā And made no effort to take the plate back to the kitchen to get them properly sauced. Plus, if you know how theyāre supposed to come and we did NOT make any kind of request to have them unsauced wouldnāt you notice that as you bring them to our table? We said yes, we very much so wanted sauce, and she brings us a container filled up only halfway. We again have to ask her for more sauce because itās not even enough for my husband to spread it over half the rack. She gets the memo and brings an actually full cup. They were at least edible after that. The bill ended up being higher, the food worse, and the service confusing. Wonāt be back next time no matter how long the wait next door is. -the ambiance however is great I love the western vibe but cool deer mounts can only get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve always loved salt grass and itās never failed me! Last night was just completely off, I was so excited they added the red fish Oscar back on the menu but for the first time in my visiting history it was horrible! The fish was cold and especially in the middle which scared me because I didnāt know if it was raw, even the tale was slimy! I couldnāt see the actual color of the fish due to all the tomato on top, which by the way the tomato was also cold, almost like it was cut for salads and they just threw it in for garnish, that was supposed to have lump crab meat and it hardly had anything, it was onion, tomato and no flavor, the fish had no flavor and the 2 shrimp on top were also weird under cooked temp and had a bunch of seasoning sprinkled on it that was not cooked on the shrimp, super salty! I lifted the tail of the fish as I was curious as to why it looked so not cooked and sticky sure enough I lifted it and it had no cooking indentations the skin was super slimy, I got put off and I couldnāt eat it my $30 fish, I just didnāt mess with it. I had a baked potato that was also hard and not cooked all the way, mac and cheese tasted different, not creamy or the same as it has always been which thatās always been one of my favorites. The only thing that I enjoyed was my pineapple margarita and the brisket queso. We had been going to Bandera Salt Grass and hadnāt had any issues with Salt Grass until yesterday 9/6. Did I complain? No of course not, now days you canāt complain as Iām afraid something would be done to my food all because I didnāt like that my food got to me completely cold, from mac and cheese my red fish, some how even my bake potato was old and hard. Right when I was getting ready to lay down I told my husband I have never had a bad experience with salt grass and it sucked yesterday he said I know! We spent around $180 including drinks from bar, super disappointing. š„¹. I will say, we had a good waitress she was attentive and nice and my pineapple margarita was also good, but the food I would...
