This review is lengthy but I thought I should warn others about what they are getting into if they decide to lease here. All the pictures I posted excluding the ones of water damage I took the day we moved in. We were shown an updated clean apartment but the day we came to sign the lease we were told they didn't have an updated one available for us. We did not have time to find another place and we figured it couldn't possibly be that bad to downgrade to the traditional style. We were wrong. After signing the lease we walked into our new home and instantly regretted our decision.Apparently "move in ready" means paint over-spray on all the cabinets and floors, there was still food from the last tenants in the cabinets, the dishwasher was filthy, there was a hat from the last tenants in the closet with paint over-spray on it...its sad that they didn't even bother to move it when they repainted the place. I cant even think of a term to describe how horrible the roach problem here is. If you walk into the kitchen in the middle of the day you will see at least 10 roaches crawling around. It does not matter how clean you are or how often you or the pest company sprays the roaches do not go away. There are constantly new water leaks from the plumbing in the ceiling. The first water leak was in the guest bathroom and it was easily fixed. The next was in the kitchen where the AC unit is. We put in a maintenance request but it was ignored for months and grew mold pretty bad. The kitchen light was slightly hanging off the ceiling when we moved in then a couple months later if fell off. When maintenance came by to fix the kitchen light he saw the moldy spot and said he would contact the third party contractor to fix it. That did not happen. When my roommate got pregnant we put in another maintenance request, they finally came to "fix it". All they did was vacuum out the water in the AC. I finally contacted SA Code Enforcement and they gave the office 10 days to fix it. The mold was in the ceiling for 9 months...luckily neither me nor my roommate or her baby got sick. They just fixed it yesterday by repairing the surface but there is still mold within the ceiling. They think just because you cant see it anymore means that it isn't there. The most recent leak was in our pantry/laundry room, it was basically raining in there. There was a pool of nasty yellow water in my washer and on the ground, we put down towels but they were soaked within 20 minutes. Within 8 hours of the leak starting the ceiling started to crack so I called the office. Maintenance stopped the leak and vacuumed the water. Now we are just waiting on the contractors AGIAN. It has only been a week and the mold behind the washing machine is bad as you can see in the picture I posted. Our neighbors are having the same issue regarding leaks. The master bedroom fan has been literally hanging halfway off the ceiling since we moved in. Its not that the maintenance crew doesn't do a good job but there is only ever 3 workers on site at a time and there is always new ones because they quit so often. I cant blame them either this place is a dump I do not want to live here let alone work here and be stressed by so much work to be done. There are always people dumpster diving which doesn't really bother me other than the fact that my car is usually parked close to where these people are. After everything we have been through this year not once have the offered to lower the lease or do anything to make us happier with...
Read moreDO NOT MOVE HERE! I have been living here for a little over a month and it has been a total nightmare. I regret so much moving here. The assistant manager(Shannon) who has been the point of contact since I was apartment hunting doesn't care about you as a tenant, she pretends to care and pretends to sympathize, gives you her word that the issue will be fixed. Then sends you on your way and forgets about you. I moved here from another state and did everything online since I had no other option. They put me in an apartment right next to a very noisy road on the first floor. The noise is unbearable. I work nights and sleep days. Have not been able to have a decent amount of sleep in over a month. I spoke to Shannon, the asst. Manager about my options to move to a different building away from the street. She said no problem and gave me a date for move in to the new apartment(7/20/19),she said they would need a week to get the apartment ready. I went to the leasing office today which was suppose to be my move in date with a gut wrenching feeling because I have no faith in her. Since it has been an unprofessional mess from day one. Sadly, my gut wrenching feeling was accurate, she wasn't in office and left no instructions to anyone about my move and when the admin personnel called her she couldn't even remember who I was. Like seriously! I'm paying rent here. I'm not living here for free or to the mercy of management. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any place I've ever lived in. On my move in date I had driven 18hrs and got here exhausted and ready to move my little things in and sleep. Not the case. Shannon again had promised over the phone that my apartment would be ready and did not set a time for that date, just that it would be ready on that day. I paid 200$ in application and admin fees, 700$ deposit, and a Prorated rent. Paid all this just to get here and sit around in their leasing office for about 7hrs because they didn't have my apartment ready. When they finally got it "ready", it still wasn't. Had maintenance in and out of the apartment for the rest of the week. A few other negative is how dark the parking lots are, most of the time you won't find a spot near your apartment so you'll end up walking for a bit in the dark and it's very scary and unsafe. I do not recommend that anyone moves here.
The only positive here is that the maintenance guys are great! Great personalities and great at their profession.
Can't say the same for the asst. Manager.
This is the longest review I have ever written and would normally never leave a bad review even after a bad experience but this is no joke. Beware! We spend most of our lives where we live and where we work and I am not at peace at my current home. That's half of my life being...
Read moreI am not real sure where to start. I moved in here January 2023, while it would be nice to say that I feel at home and like things are normal, they are not. Christy and Daisy are awesome and I’ve had to find it in my heart to be forgiving about the issues here because this place was built in the 80’s. A few posts below me is a Mention of a rude staff, this would be Tracey as I am unimpressed with her as well. I’ve even written a resident complaint about her. The manager is doing what she can to fix issues in this older community. I have a one year lease, 4 months in and 15 work orders later we are still trying to correct issues with the unit. Somethings are out of Christy’s control and I am able to show grace for that, but the leasing person who was here when I inquired about living here was a temp or something, she completely lied About this place and its renovations. I lived here about 10 years ago and it is basically the same. One reason I left my other complex was that parking was a disaster and slowly it’s becoming the same here. renting a reserved uncovered space seems ridiculous when we have 3 vehicles assigned to our unit. I think we deserve a free spot since we have to pay a fee for washer dryers, so that is not really an amenity when I could very well install my own for free. Before moving in I specifically asked about roaches based off google reviews, leasing office said no issues. This is a lie. I have debilitating mental issues and have had to go on FMLA due to all the stress of living here. I commend Christy and Daisy, they are really patient and are trying to do what they can. This place is older and needs tons of work, that is not their fault. I did not get to see my unit until the day I moved in. This put me in a bad spot because how could I utilize my 3 days to change my mind and get out of the lease when I had just sunk my money into deposits, movers, etc. to move here. I guess I just want to see and understand why they raised rent on this place and that the extra rent is reflected in the living environment. So yes, I feel cheated and lied to. I won’t post photos or videos I’ve taken as this is not a bash fest, I have them for my own record keeping so that I’m not Held liable when I move out. I will however continue to have faith in D and C to make it right.
Update 10/17/2023: D and C are very helpful and there are somethings that are out of their control at this time such as irresponsible pet owners not picking up after their pet. D and C are awesome, hard workers and it is only because of them that I will consider staying here another year. I just wish we didn’t have to pay for our parking spaces.
Update 12:17/2024-mice!! This place has mice. I can’t wait to leave it’s just too much...
