I went in for a basic manicure which they told me was $35. I was very excited because I saw they had good reviews but I was mistaken. First off I asked for almond shaped nails and they did round. When I pointed out she did the wrong shape she ignored me. Then I asked for a base coat before doing the tip she ignored and did the tip right away. Then afterwards she did a top coat which wrinkled my nails and messed up the tip. Additionally the tip she did was not covering the whole tip of my nails. Then I complained that I didn't like it and they had me pay: number 1 they had said on the phone if I didn't like the service I wouldn't have to pay and number 2 that if I was a new customer I would get 15% off which I never received that discount. Additionally when I said I didn't like them they still had me pay and then when I kept on complaining then they redid them. When she redid them she made them WAYYY too thick. I said I didn't like them and she shrugged and said that they were dry so I could leave when I was ready. When I called them I explained the situation one of the ladies was very rude to me. I said I had spoken to a man who said I would not have to pay if I wasn't happy with the service and she lied and said there was no man who worked there even though someone had come in earlier asking for him. The next day I called and the man I was speaking to said I never said you get a refund, I said you don't have to pay for them. I explained to him that he wasn't there and the other women had me pay. He said there was nothing he could do to give me a refund. In total the price was $50 for a manicure I was not happy with and their customer service was very bad. In total I spent $50 and two hours of my time and left with nails that I have to take off. I do not recommend their services at all. Future...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was my birthday last Sunday, and I had wanted to get my nails done, so I went in on Friday.
Now, this place is 50 minutes from where I live. And in San Diego, you can toss a rock and hit a nail salon. There are no shortages of nail salons here. HOWEVER, most nail salons lack the personal care, attention, and hospitality, amongst other thingsā¦
Butā¦THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL!
The staff are the sweetest people. Jen (the owner) is the most beautiful and passionate person. She holds such a high standard for the quality of service and for the experience of the customer. The lady who had done my nails (Helen) had been doing nails for 25 years! She was very kind and did such a beautiful job. There was another man that worked there, unfortunately Iām not remembering his name, but he was such a gentle soul. He was very hospitable and we had a great conversation.
You can tell that Jen has made a point to train her team on the importance of quality, health, cleanliness, and service.
Ok, as for what I got done. Now Iām not good with all the technical stuff and all the different names of services, but basically I got a full manicure set of nail extensions, with silver chrome base and a black design on top. Black and silver are my favorite colors, and I wear them A LOT! And man, Helen killed it with the design! š
Nearing the end of the service, I was looking at my nails and I said with a big smile, āThese nails are the perfect combo of Sassy and Classy.ā Both Helen and the guy who was working next to her, laughed and said that they hadnāt heard someone put those two descriptions together, but they liked that š
Anyways, all in all, it was a GREAT experience and would 10/10 recommend you give them...
Ā Ā Ā Read more10/10! I love Nirvana Nails and Ellie, who does my nails every time, is the best! I moved to North County a year ago and after a few months of commuting downtown to my tried and true nail salon, I finally did my research to find my new spot in the area. I chose Nirvana based on the overwhelming amount of positive reviews and pictures I saw. Iāve been coming here for 9 months now and the thing that has made my experience here special is the welcoming and kind atmosphere created by people like Ellie, Cynthia, and Jenny. (Unlike many salons Iāve visited where youāre uneasy because no one acknowledges you once youāre there, or you feel like theyāre talking about you, or itās a rushed poor quality job). We always have fun chatting and they remember the things going on in your life and follow up on me each time Iām there. They are always trying to make me comfortable, offering drinks, face masks, snacks etc. After seeing me a few times and listening to my nail issues and what I like, Ellie suggested I try Hard Gel (I had never heard of this and no previous salon has ever given me alternative suggestions). I had previously done regular gel and dip powder (my nails like to curl away from dip after a while), and the hard gel has been a great solution. My nails actually grow long now and donāt chip or curl away. I also have gotten to experiment with all sorts of nail art and designs since coming here. Ellie is always up to the challenge and takes her time to make sure the application and designs are perfect. The artistry is so impressive, I have a whole new way to express myself now....
