Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in San Diego

So first we come in and they tell us to go to the right window which is always to the left window to order ok fine then I order out cinnamon and sugar bagel sandwich bacon and egg and the strudel so then they come over we were seated and say sorry sir we're out of the cinnamon and sugar bagel, I say there was one in the window, so I had to pick a new one, they dont communicate then a minute later they come with food and said here's your food for our name then they turned around and said oh sorry that was for Stephanie and take her food back then they bring our food which is presumably right and I said oh by the way we don't have the strudel and I said what's in the window and said oh well that's mislabeled so now its just a joke you know just a plain joke so then they give me some cherry pastry which is not what I ordered but it's only thing that have left and this was the manager that was working on this particular day the staff was nice but clearly they don't know left from right they need to get their communication up and their labeling up because there are clearly issues that need looking into in the daily operations of this Rancho...

I would give this multiple negative stars, if the app permitted it. The employees at the Poway CA (Rancho Bernardo) store rarely, if ever, pick up the phone. I have tried nearly 2 dozen times between 6:30 and 10:45 this morning. An employee told me last month that they don't accept app or internet orders. The company itself also defeats efforts to make purchases. The app and website offer only a skimpy variety of bagels -- I suppose my tastes are too exoteric since I want to order poppy seed bagels and pumpernickel bagels. Neither is listed!

When I ordered a bagel sandwich in the shop, the waiter brought out first two sandwiches which had been ordered by another patron. Then he brought me what I had ordered -- sort of. The bagel had the wrong schmear.

If they can't find employees, perhaps they should raise wages. They aren't shy about...

I should've heeded the previous 1-star review for avocado toast(ed) bagel...it was well-deserved. I can only imagine this dish was designed and/or prepared by someone who hates avocado and never eats it. Hands down the worst Avocado toast I've ever had. Is it frozen then thawed? That would explain the odd expression on the server's face when he handed it to me; which I understand in retrospect was a mix of embarrassment and disgust, as if to say "I wouldn't eat that but it's what you ordered so I hope you like it." When I opened the box I was initially disappointed at how few bits of avo were on the bagel but after I bit into it I was kinda thankful there wasn't more of it. It was bitter, watery, and bland.
