This retreat was life changing for me for the following reasons: 1. The breathwork sessions were profound. Breathing itself is such a basic skill; and yet only a few of us master it. Learning how to breathe again, getting into a peaceful rhythm, and experiencing meditative states which allowed me to access my subconscious mind were once-in-a-lifetime experiences. 2. The ice baths were energizing. Although not the best feeling at first, getting into ice water is powerful in that it allows us to surrender and be present in the now but also they are physically and mentally beneficial! 3. The food was excellent. Our group had great offerings with wonderful service thanks to Ocho and Sophie. I am thinking about turning vegan after seeing how mentally clear and focused I felt during my stay! 4. The people. This really should be #1. John Quirk brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to mental and physical wellness. He has a great retreat program with a good mix of meditation, yoga and lectures on quantum physics. Additionally, he brought together the best group of people I could dream of. I connected with wonderful, kind, and very (very) funny people; community was a the core of this retreat and I am forever grateful to everyone who made this retreat so magical for me. If the above points don’t convince you to attend this retreat, I don’t know what will šŸ˜‰ Enjoy!

A certain sort of magic happened at the retreat with SoCal Wellness last week. Officially, the title of the session was ā€œDigital Detox.ā€ It could also be subtitled, ā€œInfusion of Joyā€, with a possible third header of ā€œHey! My Bandwidth is Back!ā€ Fourteen strangers started the week on a Monday afternoon, and by Thursday morning, had together woven an experience at times intense, insightful, meditative, healthful, philosophical, tranquil— with loads of humor sprinkled in between. John Quirk is a masterful leader, who also feels almost immediately like someone you have known for a very long time. His teaching style is reflective, calling on you to do the work of setting your intentions, while he is leading you with the knowledge and wisdom of his many years studying meditation and wellness. I am not a woo-woo woman; the fact that John guided me into ā€œcold therapyā€ (yes, that kind- with ice) is nothing short of a minor miracle in my life. And it was exhilarating! I will bring back so much of what I learned into my every day life: the meditation, the breath work, the plant-based eating. I will re-introduce a little coffee (and probably more than a little red wine). I am so happy I found this retreat, and I think I can speak for all the attendees from my session when I say: book now! You will not regret it.

I had the privilege of attending a wellness retreat with SoCal Wellness Retreats. It was a life changing experience. John was very welcoming and attentive when I arrived and made sure that all the aspects of my stay were comfortable and enjoyable. The meditation and breath work were eye-opening and transformative. I learned valuable techniques to manage stress and cultivate mindfulness. I’m grateful for the tools I gained during the retreat. I have participated in 2 retreats with John Quirk and again the retreat in Bali surpassed my expectations. I’m filled with a profound sense of gratitude. The experience in Bali was transformative. I felt a deep connection with nature and within myself. Each day in Bali was carefully curated to nourish my body and soul. I feel very fortunate to have met John and Linzy and I hope I will be attending more retreats like this one. Thank you John 🄰

Thank you SoCal Wellness Retreats for an amazing experience! I went to the Sedona retreat and it was my first wellness retreat I’ve attended. What a stunning environment overall, especially for my first time visiting this place. Our retreat was filled with mornings of breathwork, yoga (I even got to try my first acro yoga poses!), meditation, and cold plunges. I absolutely hate cold plunges, but John and the group were very assuring and helpful in helping me get through it. Happy to get through 3 minutes the first time and 4 minutes the second time! Our days were also filled with activities including a hike to Cathedral Rock with a local guide (thanks Miguel!) familiar with the energy and history of the Native Americans in the area, stargazing through the universe with a professional who worked at NASA (we saw various nebulas, Saturn, and the moon!), and my absolute favorite activity which was to go to the Sedona Wolf Sanctuary to build connections with these fierce animals. The Sanctuary guide were extremely informative and I definitely support their mission to nurture the wolves in their sanctuary. The retreat offered plenty of down time to relax, take naps, get to know the other attendees, explore the city, get a massage (thanks Ohana!), and get a Reiki treatment (thanks Amanda for helping me to experience my first Reiki). I’ve enjoyed the comrade of the people there. On our last night we ate out for dinner and enjoyed some time out in town to celebrate the experience.

Thank you John and Amanda for the efforts in getting everything together and planned out. You both definitely made my first wellness experience memorable, and I would recommend that others check out SoCal Wellness Retreats for what they have to offer being in San Diego, Bali, or anywhere else this retreat is offered. It will allow you to get out of your comfort zone and experience new things as well as get to know some amazing people. After the retreat, I’m both grateful and happy to feel refreshed from the experience. It was a wonderful break from my everyday chaotic lifestyle and it allowed me to do a lot of self-reflection and to really take things into perspective. Thanks for a great retreat. A'ho and cheers to...

TLDR: Absolutely amazing for anyone looking for a grounded experience centered on wellness and healing, but also focused on fun. I highly recommend this for anyone, but especially for people who feel alienated in more "woo woo" environments.

I went to the 4-day San Diego wellness retreat hoping for a general reset, an opportunity to regroup and get into the practice of using wellness tools to take back into my daily life. I got that and SO much more. I was so surprised at how healing the experience was. I really wasn't expecting anything so transformational, but something about doing the practices (primarily breathwork, yoga and ice baths, but also some thought exercises, eating nourishing food, and connecting with a supportive community) just cracked open a shell around my heart and lifted a weight I was carrying around that I didn't even realize was so heavy.

The vibe isn't a self-proclaimed healer telling you that you have to open your heart chakra to let in the universe's healing energy. It's a guy who has done a tremendous amount of learning and practice and wants to share that with you so that you can take away whatever resonates with you. He acknowledges the potential spiritual experiences people have with these practices, but explains things in terms of the physics and biology behind them.

John is grounded and encouraging. He is not proscriptive and he doesn't take himself too seriously. His one and only rule is to have fun and we absolutely did. We were all dealing with our own unique challenges and could share as much or as little as we felt like sharing and we always got nothing but love and support from each other. It was a joyful and grounded environment with plenty of time and space to learn, to connect and receive support, and to reflect on your own experiences.

I am working hard to maintain the peace and the bliss I felt in the days after the retreat. I am so grateful for my experience and I really hope to attend more...

I recently attended a transformative 4-day retreat that I can only describe as life-changing. Nestled in the serene embrace of nature, this retreat offered a complete digital detox — no phones, no distractions. And let me tell you, it opened my eyes to how much our devices rob us of our well-being.

The retreat was expertly curated by John, who infused every moment with magic and joy. Yoga sessions amidst the whispering trees and under the open sky were nothing short of refreshing and rejuvenating. We delved deep into breathwork and meditation experiences that left me feeling profoundly centered and at peacešŸ™šŸ»

John’s playful and caring approach even made the intense cold plunge experience fun and memorable for participants😊

Dr. Byron led insightful learning sessions that helped us reconnect with ourselves on a profound level. His wisdom and guidance were instrumental in fostering a healing environment where personal growth felt not only possible but inevitable🌸

And then there was Chef Aaron — a culinary artist whose creations were beyond delicious. Despite my dietary restrictions, he crafted meals with such care and creativity that each bite felt like a celebration of flavors and nourishmentšŸ˜

But perhaps the greatest gift of all was the people I met on this retreat. Each individual brought a unique energy and warmth, creating a supportive community where stories were shared, laughter echoed through the woods, and friendships blossomed effortlessly. It's a connection like no otheršŸ’›

I urge anyone reading this to consider joining one of John’s retreats. It’s not just a retreat, it's a treat to your soul; it’s a rare opportunity to reconnect with yourself, recharge your spirit, and create memories that will resonate for a lifetime. Don’t wait another moment — sign up and embark on a journey that promises not just relaxation, but transformation. Trust me, you won’t...
