The Nails Workshop — Local services in San Diego

I decided to take a chance on this little shop even though some more popular ones were down the road and closer to a scheduled appointment. I sent a message via FB the night before after hours expecting to get an answer in the morning, but I received a message almost immediately confirming they could get me in. When I arrived, Tim greeted me and listened to my concerns about what was going on with my nails and offered ideas. (Dude knows his s**t!) May jumped in doing nails, and Lisa was on my toes. Both were methodical perfectionists and were polite but not over chatty, which I appreciated. My only criticism is a personal one, I don't like the whole pillow thing for doing nails in the chair and reaching over I wish they had supply carts on each side or one hand at a time. It's an overall criticism of the industry, and maybe Tim will be creative, and that will make his shop stand out. Lisa even got my darn ingrown nail out, and the polish is perfect, and I mean PERFECT! May was so focused and would not accept anything other than flawless. And still, when checking out, (total was around $100., and I splurged!!!! Getting a fancy pedi and full set of tips on the mani with french) Tim insisted on a quality control check one more time and found a little bubble that neither I nor May caught. He wasn't barking at her but had her remedy it quickly before I walked out the door. You can tell they all respect each other and work together, and BTW, the place was SPOTLESS with more color options than Home Depots' paint department. I am so happy I finally found a...

I had an appointment today at [5:00pm], which I booked in advance. When I arrived, the staff was still occupied with other clients and completely unprepared for my session. What was even more disappointing is that no one acknowledged the delay or made any effort to explain or apologize.
