So here is problem - they have a lot of stuff, they can deal with customer issues excellently, they have a lot of lamps of modern design - yet there is a huge quality disconnect they haven't been able to fix.
All of their lamps are from China and there is absolutely no quality control. - I will now be on my 4th bedside lamp of the same design. WHy? Because it is the only design that looks good from all of the stores we have seen.
Yet its a failure. Why? Because the danged lamp cannot be made to hang plumb and level off the wall. Each one of the previous 3 have had serious quality and manufacturing flaws that make these swing lamps look like a drunken sailor lurching down the gang plank-. THe mounting plate is absolutely square plumb, and level. The level bubble just touches both of the center lines in all positions.
I mount the lamp on the base plate and immediately find that even if the base plate is level - the lamp part that is supposed to mate with the base plate is off level by a half bubble. THis is not fixable with a shim.
It is so disappointing to see the crap being imported. Yet try to find anything else these days. I spent more in going back and forth to the store than the lamp is worth.
So find another lamp you say - well we have been looking for this particular type for 2 months because it fits the decor and I would have spent 3 times as much if the damned things actually fit. The poor people at the store are not happy to see me , and they treat me really well, but i will continue to return lamps until i get one that actually is plumb and level. Read moreBought a lamp worth $200 last Dec. 2020 from Lamps Plus and I wanted to pick up the item from the store but they said it can only be shipped through FedEx. I called after a few weeks because I still don’t have my lamp. They said that FedEx had a tracking number and said it was delivered. I never received the lamp and I was home the whole day coz I remember there was a 49er game! FedEx claimed the delivery was successful without any proof of delivery! No pictures to prove that it was left on my front door. Called Lamps Plus for the fifth or sixth time and I was advised to dispute the purchase with my credit card and that’s how far they will help me with this problem. The responsibility and the burden of proof to show that you never received the item is on the customer not the store! Don’t they have a warranty for loss on their merchandise? That’s how far their customer service will extend their help if you have a problem. I had to call them several times to check on the status of my problem but all they did was to tell me to file a claim and dispute the purchase on my card! Where’s my money now after 3 months and I have to do all the work to file this claim? I spent a lot of hours talking to their sales people to help me get my lamp but to no avail. Read moreThe store manager Mek is a liar and terrible representation of this business. He made huge mistakes and refused to accept his mistakes. Firstly, he wasn't aware the online sale ended yesterday so after I began the order process with a salesperson, he refused to honor the sale price on the tags still attached to all the lights in store. He immediately told his employees to remove the tags. He also mispriced another light I planned to buy. After realizing he completely messed up the store prices, he told me I would have to buy the used store samples (open box items) if I wanted to pay the sale price that was on tagged on the lights (before he started removing them). Secondly, he refused to give me his supervisor's number, lied saying his manager was vacation. He also bad mouthed the company by saying if I report to corporate they won't do anything about it. I'm appalled by this type of behavior for such a large business. I was trying to support a local business since other Lamp Plus locations have closed. I've already spoke to corporate will be showing them the photos of the lights with sale price tags. Zero stars for this store due to poor management. Price tags do not say price is for floor samples.
