Visited here with my father and brother. It was a nice side trip on our way home. We drove specifically to look at his Stations of the Cross. Information isn't obvious or easy to find for how to visit. I think you park at the visitor center across the street from the start of the trail at the bottom of the hill. I added pictures of the sign and pedestrian bridge that crosses a creek to the gate. My party had a wheelchair and my father who could not hike up the trail. Using Google maps in satellite mode, I see there is a dirt road (turns out to be called "Stations of the Cross Road") off of the highway north of San Luis. Follow that road to the church above the shrine. I walked down from the top to pray the stations. The first station is not within site of the trailhead. The church is very small and very pretty. I am interested in the history. I did not see any information there, so I'll research online. The stations is pretty and unique. The walkway has a rocky base and is well maintained. It wold be nice to have a few benches along the walkway. I don't recall seeing any. I think this is a great place for a family or small group pilgrimage.

This place is great for a little pilgrimage. Moving sculptures and scripture explaining each scene of Jesus's passion. Must start at the bottom accessible from the highway to begin at the 1st Station. You can drive up a dirt road to the chapel where the 15th Station is (Resurrection added) but if you want to do the Stations in order you will have to walk down. The path is gravel, very easy trail and the whole journey is probably less than a half mile.

This place is beautiful. Not a terribly difficult walk, but bring water! Definitely bring a camera. Plan on taking some time to enjoy not only the bronze sculptures, the station plaques, the path, but turn around every now and then and take in the breathtaking scenery of the valley. The church at the top is a sanctuary to cool down before your descent. Not to be missed. This is a treasure.

Beautiful and sacred. My wife and I like to visit catholic churches since they are often so beautiful so we decided to do this hike as we were passing through and we were glad we did. As you walk up the path you come to different statues of the saviors sacrifice and atonement culminating at the top of the hill in the resurrection. I felt the spirit of God as i walked up the trail and read the inscriptions. I felt a palatable sense of reverence during the hike it felt very sacred. I appreciate the faith of those who built this and of those who have walked up this trail before me and I am grateful that it is...

This site is located in the oldest town in Colorado in the town of San Luis. We did not know that the Stations of the Cross were located on the side of a hill. We would have to go down a whole bunch of steps, then back up to the top of the hill to get back to our cars. I'm sure it is a beautiful experience, but being unable to walk down or up many steps, I was unable visit the stations. This is not a viable destination for anyone who might be...
