Nice small venue recently opened near our home as we have been watching Teri being built over the last few years.
We received a come-on promotion for 'buy one, get one" ticket deal that my wife found as curiously interesting. We even inquired about volunteer opportunities, so this chance we decided to check out the Bornemann.
Small and intimate 200 seats appeared at first to have a problem filling, until about 10 minutes after showtime when the place quickly filled to capacity. It also seemed that many, if not most, of the attendees knew each other or had some sort of affiliation with the venue because they seemed to anticipate the show was to start late. Hearing conversations, many attendees seemed to attend shows here often.
The show we attended was a tribute band that seems to be a common theme nowadays and the Bornemann is no exception, as there are plenty of these bands on the marquee amongst the other variety of entertaining shows.
Sound and lighting were good, but not overly amplified or extreme. Rather simple inside. Each of the seats has a placard on the back of donors.
Pre-mixed canned beverages and cocktails are served outside of the theater and may be brought and consumed inside. Light food is available for purchase and consumption at the deli/diner down the walk, but gives you a glance at the campus while walking.
We also saw, what appeared to be a private event in one of the other buildings on the way in. We almost stopped to have a drink and listen to their DJ performing. We finally found our building and correct show.
A pleasant experience. I anticipate all performers will enjoy this new theater venue far into the...
Read moreMy husband and I have been attending a lot of the events at the theater and every act has been excellent. One of the best things about the shows is that there are a lot of performers that are from the San Diego area. There is so much talent available and at a very affordable price. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the fact that part of every concert provides funds for the students who use the facilities is outstanding. We just attended the Donna summer concert which was amazing, but the most impressive feature of the night was that at the side of the stage there were two ladies who were providing sign language for any anyone who needed it . For me the two ladies gave a performance as well as the concert act. They expressed the words of the songs so beautifully. Congratulations Teri center you are providing a special service for a...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Found this "gem" venue here in North County while browsing through Facebook. I had previously heard great things, but the in person experience was over-the-top spectacular! The grounds are immaculate with a restaurant serving, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, local musicians performing different genres weekly on the patio. Hubby and I attended a Tribute Band concert (Smooth Operator) featuring music by the legendary artist "Sade" at the lovely Bonnerman Performing Arts Center that was awesome! Great acoustics and comfortable seats. Please do yourself a favor and check out the website for events, etc. and support. You will...
