Homewise Appliance — Local services in San Rafael

On Monday, September 5th I ordered a double wall oven over the phone from Airport Home Appliance in San Rafael. I enjoyed interacting with sales representative Alan Pagan because I found him pleasant, easy to talk to and not pushy. He informed me that the oven was in stock and, to my surprise, it would be delivered to me by the end of the week. So later that day Alan contacted David, their appliance delivery contractor who said he could deliver the oven Wednesday, 2 days later after I had ordered it.

Come delivery day, there were text updates on how close the delivery crew of David and his assistant came to arriving. They arrived about 30-45 minutes earlier than their estimated time window. The oven arrived in perfect condition. They took our old oven to dispose of later. Then they modified our wall and built a stand for the new oven so that it could fit nicely in the wall space. Next they tested the new oven to make sure it worked fine. It was nice that they didn’t leave a mess in the kitchen after they were done.

From now on Airport Home Appliance in San Rafael will be my first preference to shop for my major kitchen appliances, and I prefer to order from their sales...

We did a large home renovation. The worst vendor and customer service experience was with Airport Home Appliance. There are a lot of places to purchase appliances do yourself a favor and skip Airport.

I purchased a package of Thermador appliances. I was told the appliances would be delivered into my home with the packaging removed. The appliances were dumped onto my driveway still in their packaging. I was able to convince Airport to come and takeaway the packaging which they did two days later leaving a mess of styrofoam in front of our home.

Also, be aware that if your salesperson tells you that you can change your order anytime prior to delivery, that is not true. We needed to change the items in our package as we went through the remodel process. The sales manager tried to hit with me with a huge restocking fee for a range that was months away from delivery. AHA eventually waived the fee but what an unnecessary hassle.

Throughout the process their own internal product tracking and delivery system proved to be unreliable. Creating a lot of logistical headaches with for us, our general contractor and other vendors.

Just stay away from Airport...

What a great all around experience. Spanning over four days, we went in initially researching one item. Once there, we got nothing but helpful, knowledgeable advice and an easy experience…. Which of course led to us eventually getting four things. Tim, handled everything with ease and their GM, Michael, truly went above and beyond. I can not stress this enough!! They went well beyond what I ever would have expected, to make sure they located an item they didn’t have and still even made sure the price was the lowest anywhere! Internet included!! Every aspect of the multi day experience with their store in San Rafael was flawless. Having only ever dealt with the appliance departments of places like BestBuy or similar in the past, I had very little hope, opting instead to do my own research prior and just simply walk in to look at one thing. instead they opened my eyes and reminded me what old school customer service and knowledge based salesmanship is again. They were ROCK SOLID at every turn.
