I needed a large section removed from a tree in my backyard. I had originally asked a much larger company for a bid which I was good with, but they couldn't get to it for 4 to 6 weeks. I then asked Utah Tree Co. for a bid and they came in $50 higher but could do it in just a few days. I asked if they would match the other bid and they said yes, so I went with them and paid half of the invoice. The following Monday I received a text confirming the appointment for the next day (Tuesday) between 2PM and 3PM, and they showed up at 10AM. When they were done, I looked at the tree and noticed an ugly dead branch at the top of the tree which was hidden by the leaves of the section they removed. When I pointed it out, they said they would take care of it but would have to come back later since all their equipment was already put away. That evening came and they didn't show up. That night I received a text from them asking me to pay the remaining amount on the invoice, which I didn’t since the job wasn’t finished. The next day (Wednesday) I received another text at 1:30PM asking to pay the invoice and I responded by telling them I will pay the invoice as soon as they finish the job. They responded and said they got busy the day before but will make it over in a "little bit." Again, they never showed up. On Thursday I texted them and said I owe you the rest of the invoice and asked if they would make it over that day. They did not respond to my text. On Friday they sent me another invoice reminder at 1:30PM and texted me again at 6:43PM stating they had a very busy week but will show up in the morning (Saturday) to take care of the branch. They never showed up. On Monday, I called the company and spoke to the owner and expressed my frustration and my willingness to pay the remaining balance once the job is finished. He apologized and said “you have my word” someone will come by tonight to take care of it. Nobody showed up. The next day (Tuesday) I received another text regarding the invoice. Being irritated with 4 no shows, I responded in frustration. We ended up in a small texting battle with them telling me I didn’t specifically pay to have the dead branch removed, which was obvious since we didn’t know the dead branch was even there until the larger branch was removed. However, when I pointed it out, they said they would take care of it and did not say anything about charging me more. I considered it part of the job. Let me add, that the branch is not that big. I tried to remove it myself, but I couldn’t reach it. They then told me they didn’t understand why I was so frustrated as they weren’t charging me to come back out. I explained the 4 no-shows had a lot to do with my frustration including them giving me their word they would be there and still no showed. They then claimed they did send someone over on Monday who waited for me until 8:00PM when they decided to send them home. I don’t believe this to be true as I was home all afternoon and, in the driveway washing my wife’s car until 6:30PM. After that I continued to wait in my house until 7:30PM when I had to leave to pick up my daughter. No one showed up during that time. When I asked them what time this person came to my house, they didn’t respond. They said the are a small company and simply doing their best during the busiest time of year. I can understand that position, but I explained to them that there is no excuse for no showing 4 times no matter how small the company is. I was really impressed with this company to begin with but that all changed when they failed to follow through on what they said they would do and then put the blame on me.
To finish, they did offer to come over the next Saturday morning on their “free” day to take care of the “small dead branch” but given the condescending tone of the text and not wanting to deal with a 5th no show, I told them not to bother. I went ahead and paid the remaining balance, as I did owe that to them, and it was never about the money anyway. Use them at...
Read moreThey say on their website "Your Trusted Tree Services Company" but I can personally tell you that they are not trustworthy! They did come quickly and remove our trees by they also broke down our fence because they didn't want to go around it. They also ran over and ruined our front lawn that was no where near where the trees were to be removed. They were fast in a way but one of the trees could have been cut better not leaving more stump than nessessary. The other things is the owner, Trevor Taylor, quoted us a price for two things and on those two things billed us significantly more. He said he would fix the fence and he never did. He only said sorry about the lawn damage. He said he would at least Venmo us money back and after I shared my Venmo to him he never sent any money. I wrote down the quote for the first removal with a $500 discount but he rescinded the deal later saying that I had to take the deal that day only to get the discount. That was never said to me. He knows I was waiting on other quotes. They say always get at least three quotes and most services understand that. I choose Trevor because they were quite eager and really willing to come so soon. I could have waited a bit more and had someone else do the job. I have a text that shows what he qouted on the second removal but he charged $250 more for that instead of $750, he changed it to $1000. He said it was a miscommunication, but the problem is they are not being honest. The truth is the owner never came to the job site to look at the damages. So he hides behind the guys he sent to do the work. He said he was going to make things right in some words but he never did. After trying to contact him for the last two weeks he now does not respond anymore. So, all I can assume is he's gone and will never do what he said he would do. I'll change this review if anything changes. For reals, you can't...
Read moreI had an extremely large blue spruce tree that needed to be removed. It was probably close to 100 yrs old & I had done everything in my power to keep it, however it was declining & becoming a hazard. Not only was the tree quite close to the house, but it was inside of a fenced yard making it difficult to access. Utah Tree Company came out & gave me an estimate & they got me right on their schedule & had everything completed within about 8 hours (over a 2 day period). They were amazing! Not only was their pricing fair, but they were very friendly, professional & brought all of the needed equipment to do the job. They were safety conscious & it was obvious that they knew exactly what to do to keep the tree from falling on the house (which was a big concern of mine). I also had them look at a large maple tree that I had some concerns about & rather than telling me that it needed trimming they said it would be ok for a few years. I was impressed that they didn't just try to sell me a service that they didn't think was necessary. I have had many different tree companies/individuals do tree removals & trimming (I have a lot of trees) & Utah Tree Company has been the most impressive & fair priced of them all. I will continue to use them for all of my tree needs in the future & I will highly recommend them to all of my family & friends & anyone who needs help with their...
