Do not rent condo #11 - It was a disgrace The location of the beach and cleanliness of the outside property were fine. However, I stayed in condo number 11 and that condo was a disgrace. The furniture in this condo was so run down and uncomfortable. The furniture all needed to be replaced. The matresses were old and squeaked when you rolled over. In fact, the 2 single beds were the worst, the bed springs came through the mattress and hit your ribs! The linens were old, scratchy and need to be replaced. The blankets were disgusting. They expected the guests to use the same bed spread that everyone sat on and used that has your blanket. My 2 guests left and said they were exhausted because the beds were so uncomfortable, they couldn’t sleep. In the linen closet there were only 2 addition blankets and they were worn and had holes in them. The curtains in the master bedroom were put on upside down and there was no shade so in the morning the sun beamed into the room. The flat screen TV in the master bedroon didn't work. The sofa and chair had bugs or nits - something was inching us constantly. There were only 3 beach towels for 4 people. The beach equipment - well both umbrellas looked like they were from the dollar store and one was totally broken. The chairs were old and rusty. The kitchen window had no shade or curtain, so the sun beamed in all day. We had to hang a towel in the window to give us some comfort from the afternoon sun. Worst of all on the dining room set they had 4 place mats they had the previous guest food still stuck on them. They were filthy. I felt like I was staying in a slum landlord property. And then to top it off, only 2 burners worked on the stove. The fact that the staff thought the condition of this condo was acceptable worries me. Whatever you do, DO NOT rent...
Read moreAfter some time in unit 31, I can say that I won't be staying in this unit again. It's an adorable, very well decorated and equipped condo but.... The king bed is miserable! We came to the island to get married and ended up sleeping in separate twin beds because we could literally barely move and ached all day after attempting to sleep in the master. It's rock hard - doesn't support or respond to you at all. The floors were also filthy with a thick layer of black grime. Socks were ruined and bare feet turned black in just minutes. We had a long flight and within hours of our arrival, I had to sweep and mop the condo. Supplies were available though so this wasn't a huge deal. There's room for improvement with the cleaning company and unit specific things but there are also positives. The location is wonderful and the price is great yet I guess you probably get what you pay for. I'll research Seashells units better next time we come to the island and I'd consider renting here again, just not this unit because of the...
Read moreWe had a fantastic stay at Sea Shells of Sanibel Unit #37. It was so clean, vibrant and had everything we could want to make our vacation great! We were so surprised at how quiet it was in the unit and on the complex (in a good way!) The pool was nice but we mostly spent our time at the beach which is only a short walk away through the "secret garden" as we quickly nicknamed it. It was so convenient to rent bikes right on property and Sanibel has the best bikes trails! We biked to breakfast, lunch, and the lighthouse. I cannot wait to return to this complex and unit 37. You can truly tell the owners care about their...
