I have recently become a full member at this gym and can say with certainty that it is a wonderful gym and business in general. From my very first interactions with Paul over the phone, I was treated with friendliness, professionalism, and courtesy.
I'll just stop and take a moment before I continue to state that I have always found the idea of working out a gym daunting and intimidating. I tend to be an introverted and shy person that hides in my home doing workout DVDs and using my stationary bike. I was prompted by my fiance's initial experiences with the owner, Jay, and those of using the gym in general, to give it a try.
I came in and had a chat with Jay about the basic rules and expectations in the gym. They are all created and enforced with the safety, comfort, and general consideration of all the members of the gym. Jay was very straight-forward, thorough, and friendly while explaining everything to me. I was issued a temporary key fob to try out the 2-week pass and he even allowed my fiance to give me the "tour" which was more comfortable for me.
The gym offers more than you would think when looking in from the outside. Tucked into a strip mall, the amount of equipment and space is surprising. There is a weight-lifting area in the back with benches and different options for lifting. My fiance spent most of his time in this section. There are several pieces of cardio equipment right up front: elliptical machines, treadmills, recumbent stationary bike, and rowing machine and numerous strength training equipment stations to work all the muscle groups you can think of! The equipment is all in great condition (and their expectations of the members help keep it that way) and I really appreciate how each of the strength equipment stations have instructions on them. Additionally, there is a side room that has a kiosk allowing you to choose workouts using a touch screen, which lowers a projector screen and automatically runs a workout instructional video for step aerobics, spinning, and more. The room is also used for the group classes that are held 3 times a week. I recently attended a group class and the instructor was helpful in correcting my form without making me feel embarrassed or silly (a fear of mine).
Tonight, I took advantage of the free personal fitness consultation that comes with joining as a member. My trainer is Montique and he really made me feel comfortable. After a brief chat where I explained my current workout regimen and injury/medical facts of note he led me through a workout that had me out of breath and sweating (both good things)! He wasn't bossy or pushy and again, I found he helped me with my form in a way that wasn't humiliating. Having the consultation was out of my comfort zone but I am so glad I did it. I will be back for a follow-up session next week and am looking forward to it!
Overall, Anytime Fitness is fantastic. The owner is friendly to everyone and truly seems passionate about his gym and the members, which he obviously looks for in the staff he hires, as well. If you're thinking of giving it...
Read moreThis Is Discrimination⚠️ I want to file a complaint for discrimination and unfair treat at this gym!
I am utterly shocked and heartbroken by the treatment I received at this gym. I believe I was unfairly targeted and discriminated against under the excuse of “violating the rules” — twice — and had my membership abruptly cancelled. Let me explain exactly how these so-called violations happened.
First “Violation” — I Didn’t Have a Key Because I Wasn’t Fully Registered Yet
On my first visit, I had just signed up through OnePass but hadn’t completed the in-person registration process, so I had not yet been given a key. There was no doorbell, no clear entry instructions, and no visible contact method. I stood outside but had no way to alert anyone inside to my presence. When someone else opened the door, I briefly stepped in to seek help from staff. They appeared busy, so I quietly stepped back outside and waited respectfully on a bench for almost ten minutes before trying again.
This simple attempt to ask for assistance—during my very first visit, as a new member without a key—was somehow labeled a “violation.” I was shocked. How could I have followed the correct procedure when no one had explained it and I didn’t yet have the key needed to enter?
⸻
Second “Violation” — Treated Without Basic Human Dignity
The next day, I returned—this time still without a key, since the registration process hadn’t been completed. The same staff member recognized me as someone who had just signed up. I wasn’t trying to enter to work out—I simply explained that I had left my water bottle inside the day before and wanted to retrieve it, which would have taken less than 30 seconds.
Instead of showing empathy, she completely ignored me, continued a phone call, and left me standing in the freezing cold. I wasn’t allowed to stay near the door for warmth. She even said she would call the police if I tried to go in—just to get something that belonged to me.
⸻
Humiliated and Heartbroken
I felt devastated and completely dehumanized. I cried from frustration and helplessness. And instead of checking if I was okay, she told me my membership had been cancelled—for “disturbing” others.
Disturbing—by being cold, upset, and asking for help?

This Is Discrimination
I was treated differently, unfairly, and with no empathy. My membership was cancelled not because of real violations, but because I was seen as someone unworthy of basic respect. That is...
Read moreThe gym at first seems ok. A little old. A little dirty. But hey. Sign up for a $1 plus $25 fob fee if you leave a positive review before even experiencing anything. Supposed to save you $25 by doing that. So me and my mom joined up. Ok. First bill should have been $51. Nope. They took $102. Called Dan the manager and he said no problem Joseph we will credit you back the money and you won’t owe any dues on the next due date. Next due date comes around. And BAM. I’m debited again for both memberships when I was supposed to owe only one 24.99 fee. Now they owe me $75. I call Dan again and he says. Don’t know how that could have happened Joseph. But don’t worry I took care of it and now your account won’t owe any dues until sept 24th. Two weeks later bam. Debited again for both memberships. By this point I’m pissed. They keep taking money when they are not supposed to and they even take the money out earlier than agreed upon. So I call Dan demanding all my money back and I want to cancel. This pretend manager has no power. Tells me to email another company and some woman named April is supposed to help with the refund. Dan says don’t worry Joseph. I will call you back by the end of that business day. It’s been more than 48 hours and Dan hasn’t called still. Don’t know what is happening with my refund. This company is robbing people and doesn’t care. When I called the company he told me to email about cancellation they were in another country and said oh they have no control over any of it. After demanding they stop taking money because they have already stolen over $100. They billed me again for another $60 for the 2 accounts. I signed up July 3rd and today is August 2nd. Sign up for $1. What a SCAM.I’ve now paid almost $300. I called my bank and had to stop payments on their ACH charges and my bank is charging me $60 in fees because they put a stop payment for the 24.99 amount but when they debited the $30 each account it was another amount so I had to pay another stop payment fee. So I’m owed all this money from this stupid little gym and now I’ve had to pay my bank $60 to make them stop illegally taking money from my account. The woman at the bank said if they do this again I should close my account and open a new one. What a headache. And Dan. He’s untrustworthy and really doesn’t care if people are being overcharged repeatedly or not. I would avoid this gym and more than likely any...
