We went and bought a dryer this weekend and it was delivered today which is great. Luckily I had done my homework on line and basically knew what we wanted in terms of brand. The sales lady that helped us did not seem knowledgeable and seemed to even get frustrated with me. I have been in sales myself for over 20 years and even if you get frustrated with a customer you should never show it. Anyway I asked about the steam feature on the dryer since may reviews said it was a great feature. The sales lady told us we would not be able to use that feature unless we bought the washer to go with it which seemed odd to me that a company would build a feature in like since not everyone buys washers and dryers in pairs. We decided to get it anyway since the review and brand are really good and I am glad we did. You might think why since it had a feature we wouldn't be able to use. Well I heard them testing it in my garage and went to see how it was going. I said I was bummed to not have the steam feature and the installer looked at me like I was crazy and said it was all hooked up for steam and indeed it was. So the sales person clearly didn't know anything about the products or was trying to scam us into getting a new washer as well. Hopefully once we use the dryer we will like it but like I said I looked at all the reviews before I went in. I would NEVER...
Read moreThe people that came out to deliver and install my washer and dryer were horribly unprofessional. The guy in charge was so disrespectful. He leaked water on my floor, and tried to leave without installing the unit AND with an active leak. Like, a leak just dripping into my floor continuously. I told them that the plumber that came out previously was able to close the valve and stop the leak, and I kid you not, the guy just shrugged his shoulders at me like he didn't even care about his job (or the water pouring onto my floor) at all. He was so utterly disrespectful. When he called his manager he just shoved the phone at me like he was demanding I speak to the guy on his phone. Didn't even ask me if I wanted to speak to the manager in the first place. Just shoved the phone at me. I think they saw a woman alone and thought they could take advantage of me. It wasn't until I started to insist that they fix the leak (the leak THEY started), before they leave, that they actually somehow magically figured out how to close the valve again. I called the store and they told me they use a third party. That's absolutely no excuse for this behavior. If the third party is making your business look bad with their unacceptable behavior, then get rid of them. I should've looked at the reviews before choosing this place. Other people are saying they had a...
Read moreI am now quite unhappy with University Electric. We bought a Fisher Paykel dishwasher from them in 2003. We had to replace it in the spring of 2013 - an OK run. However, the handles on this dishwasher (less than 2 years old), have fatigued the plastic that they are attached to and have come off. First, University should not be selling Fisher Paykel products since many of the issues with all of their appliances are, apparently (from reviews), quite well known. Second, we should have been warned of the possibility of such a problem and possible directed to a different brand. And third - MOST IMPORTANT - don't tell us that it is out of warranty and there is nothing you can do. You could do something - it's called CUSTOMER SERVICE - especially since we have spent thousands of dollars in your store to purchase multiple appliances - you CHOSE not to do anything including offering a reputable repair service. Seriously! We will NOT EVER use your store or purchase anything from you again even if we have to pay additional shipping to buy over the internet. One of the reasons brick and mortar stores are [supposed to be] better is for their...
