Taqueria Vallarta — Restaurant in Santa Clara

Update: We don't visit as often as we used to, which is probably why our faces aren't recognized anymore, lol. There's been a change in people there. Food is just as good as always, you want quality food at an affordable price, go here. Service - we called 5 times (maybe the number has changed or they were just that busy) but never could get through. Used to call in our order almost every time so we could jump in the car and food would be ready by the time we got there. This time, ordered in person since I had to. Make sure you know when you're ordering how many salsas you want, it's 1 & done now unless you pay for it in advance. Wasn't provided an option to just pay the 25¢ more for each extra.

All in all, great place, great food, and that's all that matters. Would love an online ordering system someday, in case we can't get through again.

There are so many excellent Mexican restaurants in the area but Taqueria Vallarta is my favorite. This spot was a thrice weekly treat when I worked a couple blocks away and I still drive in from Campbell every now and then to get their hot salsa and a big bag of house-made chips (not to mention their tacos are to die for, especially covered in said hot salsa).

It used to be owned by an older couple who always said hi to me and my dad when we came in-- I think their children took over. I still get top notch, friendly service every time. Prices are great, food is even better.

I love the way they offer perfectly sized bags of chips and salsa with their meals. I don't go often enough to get anything but the giant tubs anymore, but it used to be such a perfect combo for lunch.

I can't express enough how amazing their red hot salsa is. It's not tooooo hot, but has the perfect mix of flavor. And the texture is amazing too-- just thick and oily enough....

Close to my work so I come here fairly often. Food is good, salsas have great flavor and prices are good. Everything I need for a good quick lunch spot. But today they got my order wrong, I get the same thing every time, the woman seemed frustrated and argued with the cashier for a minute but then she turned around so I figured they would fix it. A couple minutes later a guy brought it out to me and apologized. I figured it was what I'd ordered, brought it back to work and it was the same burrito they had tried to give me originally- that I had already told them I didn't order. Kind of frustrating.
