I brought my car here to get an oil change and my tires rotated. Everything went well until I smelled a strong urine odor in my car. Since I traveled with my child, I assumed she peed through her diaper. 5 minutes later I arrived home only to find out my driver seat was damp and smelled like piss. I kid you not. The most disgusting part was the wet feeling on my butt.
I thought a simple wipe down and Lysol spray wouldāve fixed the issue.. NOPE. Checked later on that night to see if it still smelled bad and it did. I returned to the shop the next day to ask them what can they do to fix the problem and the guy told me to come back the next morning to speak to the store manager.
I called the next day and asked for the store manager and I spoke to someone named Josh. Mind you, the guy told me the store managers name and Josh was definitely not the name he told me. Anyways, I explained the situation and would you believe me if I say Josh showed no care in the world? He said it is impossible for my car to smell like piss because his workers always put a seat cover in the car before sitting. After a back and forth and explaining that I have a DASH CAMERA that can see if the guy used a seat cover or not.. He back tracked saying āthey donāt always use a seat cover but most of the times they doāā¦. All of this conversation was recorded. His attitude and lack of sympathy made me very upset. Not even an apology.
Long story short, this man basically said that Iām a liar and that he knows that his workers are clean because thatās the rules or whatever the hell he was saying. He did not offer to do anything not even a smell check. (Btw I have nooo pets and my car is damn near brand new so no Iām not looking for a free shampoo because I DIDNT need one)
Furious, I called corporate.. explained the whole situation again including my interaction with Josh. About an hour later I got a call back from Jeremy, the store manager that the previous worker told me about. He said he wanted to fix the problem by giving my number to a guy that does detailing and that they would cover the charge. Itās been 6 days since the car tires got rotated and 4 days since he promised to get the car shampooed.. UP TILL THIS DATE nothing. I called yesterday and now I might call again to ask about it. I hate bothering people so this irritates the hell out of me to be calling that much. But whether or not they believe me or want to compensate me I have to get it shampooed. Iāve been covering the seat with a DoorDash bag in order to avoid sitting directly on the seat. Though the scent is almost gone Iām afraid that if the seat gets wet in anyway it will smell again. During the final leg of our trip, our 2021 VW Atlas began to lose tire pressure in a rear tire and start d shaking bad over 60 miles per hour (not ideal for interstate travel). We made it safely to Santa Rosa Beach, FL but knew the car needed service before traveling 800 miles back home in 9 days. Our options for service shops were limited with two VW dealers both over an hour away, which would have been frustrating while trying to spend quality time with my family. I kept researching and found an Express Oil location 15 minutes away and decided to give them a try. The place was slammed when I pulled in which gave me confidence immediately. My confidence in this local shop only grew from there. A couple hours after dropping off our vehicle, I received a call from mechanic John Y letting me know that there was a 3.5 inch crack in my rear rim which was the reason for the pressure loss. In addition, all tires needed balanced, rotated and the front tires were severely out of alignment (Ohio winter potholes likely the cause). From this point forward, John Y (mechanic) stayed in touch with me all day everyday to provide updates, made calls to all local dealers in search of a new rom, dropped off my keys at our vacation rental (after work hours), picked up our car keys (early morning on his way to work). Above and beyond! All in all, John Y and his team were able to repair the rim, balance/rotate all tires and our vehicle drove smooth all the way back to Ohio with no issues at all - very smooth drive! The final bill was very affordable too which was a nice feeling! Based on my experience, I highly recommend John Y and his team at this Express Oil location! Amazing experience! The car in front of me asked me to back out so he could leave because he said he had been waiting 30 minutes. My dad was on the phone with me and had some questions. I asked the question and the employee said Iāll be right back and was gone way too long and then when he came back my dad would ask another question about service and the guy was like Iāll be right back. Finally he got the manager. It would be nice if the employees were a little more knowledgeable on the service side vs having to wait for them to go over there to the other side about questions not related to the oil change . But never the less they were very friendly⦠I was thinking it would be a 10 minute oil change like advertised however I was there for an hour. I did have two people in front of me. So I went to be clear. Regardless I am thankful they were able to help me when I need the oil change and I always trust express oil. Thanks to Shawn for taking the $26 off with my coupon. Again friendly staff, just a little slow when I was in a hurry. Before i get done with this review Iād like to add if it not possible to do an oil change in 10 minutes it would be nice to not advertise it. Maybe itās physically not possible?
