This was my first time here & my first drive thru! We came Saturday night for the Barbie movie! I expected it to be sold out but there were still a few spots left. Wow this is a social scene! I had no idea…. So many people out walking around, talking, going from vehicle to vehicle. We of course just stayed in our cars and kept to ourselves but I could see the appeal if you didn’t want to keep a bunch of kids quiet and still in a theater. That being said, it was a little distracting! Even with the windows rolled up. We want to see an horror film or something with not a lot of kids to compare the experience. We had no issues seeing the screen, and we just have a regular sized car. We were in spot F-14. I liked it because we were close to the road to get out, not near concessions, not as many people as up closer. We didn’t get concessions or use the restroom, so I can’t speak about that. Checking in took awhile. Not our check in, cuz we paid online! But I guess the cars that had to pay right then were what was holding up the line. So we missed the first few minutes of the movie. So pay online people!!!!! It’s so convenient!! They don’t explain the parking to you at all!!!! So we had to just figure it out while trying not to disrupt others! We left a couple minutes before the film ended so we could beat...
Read moreMy wife reserved one of the on-site campers as a birthday present. When we arrived, we walked around the grounds. Two other restored campers host concessions and adult drinks. I had a pulled pork sandwich, wife had a smash burger and we shared funnel fries. The food was delicious, and I mean you'd pay for this at a sit-down restaurant and be very happy. They're on a raised deck with lots of room. There are around a dozen brand new picnic tables on the deck and ground with plenty of separation. Being only a couple years old, everything is in mint condition. There are 2 play areas; one more traditional climbing/swinging sort of playground, and a fair-sized rock pile for climbing. Real rocks, so kids can be kids, skin a knee and rub dirt on it. Access in and out has a smooth flow. The parking for the movie is arranged and landscaped very well. And it was great to see so many age groups going to a drive-in, high school to seniors and everything in between. Since we were there for the night, we saw the staff walk the grounds to pick up any trash. When we left in the morning, it looked as fresh as when we arrived. The owners are obviously fully invested in keeping this piece of Americana alive and thriving. Their story is...
Read moreThey have assigned parking and trucks are supposedly limited to the last spot on each row or the back row so they don't block others view but people that purchased online are not policed for car type and SUV hatches stand higher than any of the trucks present. Their tiny play ground has decent equipment but I found it surprising that a newly built play area with retaining walls full of rubber chunks was already losing ground to weeds. Concessions have a decent selection of candy, canned sodas, pickles and two sizes of popcorn that seemed to have been popped last week and left in the box until sold. The restrooms are an RV with stairs to get in, it smells comparable to the worst port-a-potty I have ever had the displeasure of using. They have their own speakers by the screen and broadcast the audio on an already in use FM radio station. The radio station has minor bleed through from the other station. Their speakers and the broadcast are out of sync so there is a cacophony of echoey sound all over the place so you can't understand anything. The projection is extremely dark so with any scene that isn’t brightly lit you have no idea what...
