My favorite place in North Carolina to shop local, homemade, sustainable and environmentally-friendly goods! The owner, Heather, is amazing and so kind. She truly cares about the products she sells and I feel comfortable buying anything there without doing prior research because I know she has already. The products are clearly labeled with categories like women-owned, local, etc. making my purchases that much easier. This shop is my go to for unique gifts and treat yo self gifts to me. I love the bulk refills and all the local soaps and candles. It makes eco-friendly living so easy! Above all, Heather really cares about this community and her customers. She has COVID-19 policies that are easy to follow, like wearing a mask while inside. Just like the rest of the Saxapahaw village and current orders in N.C. And she’s been super accommodating with curbside pickup and deliveries. I can’t recommend this...

My husband and I visited this store today while having lunch and we got mask shamed by the girl working the counter. First of all it’s a candle/novelty store. I actually prefer to smell candles before I buy them especially if it’s $18 for a basic votive candle. I pulled my mask down to smell it and I was immediately told to keep my mask on at all times while in the store. She had NO other customers in there other than us. I was actually going to buy the candle up until that point. You have lost a customer and I will definitely be sure to tell everyone I know to not shop there if this is how you treat...

We have sometimes browsed Freehand Market and have purchased some lovely household items and gifts, but I never paid much attention to the refill station at the back of the store. My mistake! They offer jars, or you can bring your own. And they have all the more natural type basics you need for soap, personal care, and household care. I am thrilled to have a great, local option for this stuff. 100% would rather spend here than an amazon affiliate or other big corporate business, buying stuff we need produced by...
