I went in today and p68 and 69 was a lady at a knife store. She sold me two knives at $50 but gave me the bag and once I checked it she did not give me the knife she took earlier. She then berated me saying I put a different knife in there and she’s been there 37 years and she remembered she had it but couldn’t find it. She then kept using words like “you people” and she’s never forgotten anything. She then after thirty minutes found the correct knife and advised me it was more than 15 dollars more. I asked for refund when she started pulling knives out and saying about her bottom line and she can do whatever as the Busseys owners know her. I asked for thirty minutes for refund as I did not have her bag because she ripped it from my hand and no product. She then advised me to call the police which I did and she proceeded to tell me to leave as she was closing. She was rude, entitled and overall disrespectful. Police showed up and she admitted making a mistake with price which she gave me a different knife and then said I can give me 25 dollars back and the other knife. She then said no to the police officer and brought two separate knives cheap ones and places outside her business. Needless to say I am pursuing a lawsuit as I called Busseys and they said their independent and do not care about theft. There were witnesses there which I have their information and the Asian lady advised them that if they say anything to me or police she will deport them because she knows they don’t have papers. This is ridiculous and people like this give business owners a bad name. She should be removed and because of actions I am pursing all legal ramifications for bus seys for allowing sed behavior and her. End result she stole fifty fillers from me and also...
Read moreMy Husband and I stopped here on our way back home to Bowie Texas so by the time we stopped in to check the place out most of the vendors had left or were packing up. But I am soooo glad we did. I found a very nice gentleman in the back row of the covered area selling Succulent plants and WAS so EXCITED because he had 2 of the succulents I have been wanting but could not find in stores in my area and really did not want to buy offline. They were a really nice big size and super healthy and 3 for 10.00 well could not beat that. I got a Echeveria Black Prince, Echeveria Elegance also called Mexican Rose and a Graptopetalum Superbum another one I had been wanting. My husband found a really nice vendor who sold old cameras and other items, he bought an old telephone the type you had to just pick up the ear piece and tell the operator who to call. He is putting it in our old fashion sandwich shop Crazy Horse Sandwich Shop in Bowie Tx, and I could a really old ruler from an old Flower Shop that on the back side gave in the inches for depths on planting your seeds and I believe the distance as well. My only regret is we were not able to get here earlier due to another appt there in San Antonio. But I would definitely drive the 4 hours again just to go and get more succulents from the nice gentleman. Oh we also got 4 strawberry Plants from him as well. Sweet Ann's I hope they do well in my 7b / 8a Planting Zone. Echeveria Black Prince Echeveria Elegance/ Mexican...
Read moreAs flea-markets go, I have to say, this is one of my favorites in the San Antonio area.
While some of the larger area flea-markets have morphed into micro-amusement parks (complete with live music), Bussey's stays true to its roots as a bargain hunter's paradise.
In lieu of endless rows of professional vendors peddling Chinese knock-offs, Bussey's shoppers are met with row after row of average Joes offering up an endless menagerie of random bric-a-brac accented with an occasional hidden treasure.
Management mitigates the typical flea-market cacophony by keeping blaring music and vendor hawking to a minimum, leaving the hum of fellow shoppers as the only soundtrack.
While they're open on Saturdays, Sundays are THE day to go. If you're up for a casual stroll, a little people-watching, and a few good deals, hit Bussey's this weekend. I'll stop short of calling it the perfect flea-market but, if nothing else, it is decidedly...
