I had a very disappointing experience with stylist Alexis. She applied all of my highlights, then abruptly left without a word. A completely new stylist came over and said, “Oh, I’m sorry—Alexis felt sick and had to go home.” There was no explanation or courtesy from Alexis before she walked out, leaving me mid-appointment with someone else finishing my service.
The new stylist removed my foils, washed, and dried my hair. Before we were even finished, Alexis returned—but instead of checking in or offering a simple apology for leaving so suddenly, she sat in the playroom until I was done. No acknowledgment at all.
When I got home, I noticed in better lighting that a large section of hair near my face hadn’t been highlighted at all. I returned to the salon, where the owner acknowledged the issue and kindly fixed it herself. However, even then, Alexis was in the building with another client and still didn’t take a moment to step in and say anything. No apology. No explanation. Nothing.
While the owner tried to make it right, Alexis’s silence and lack of professionalism left a very negative impression. Being left mid-service, spending an extra hour at the salon to correct the mistake and $142 later without so much as a word from the original stylist is...
