I have always loved and shopped at Winn Dixie. I mean they are the "Beef People", right? The meat is still good & raised locally but if you want to get the best cut when big sale, ask butcher to cut it for you. It's always been clean, the employees are always pleasant helpful and costs are as reasonable as you can get without doing an ALDI... to a point. As with other stores, they have "key items" that are great but little pricey. The good news is that these favs are BYGO often, as well as many other items throughout the store. The vegetables are average to good, about the same as other stores & they manage to rotate stock w/sales before edge of bad that helps w/costs and waste. The one aggravation is they don't seem to have as much variety or specialty items you'd hope to find in one place. You have to go to one of the "Big 3" competitors, developed to cover 1 mile areas like a "Bermuda Triangle". No matter which way you go, you'll find the same 3 stores! Oh & you can't choose one store, expecting to find all the grocery items needed at comparable prices, ain't going to happen. It's not as if you waste gas as they're all near the other, it's the aggravation. I'll end this with my own buying reasons: I'm single, I eat 1 small meal or 2 while trying to keep my bill down. It's hard though! My gosh, I can't imagine how much it costs for a family of 4/5 now! I had to shop weekly w/long list, coupons & three boys (twins & step brother, all same age!) They had to go to assist in pushing the 3 baskets. Just for the week!!!! I felt super lucky walking out of Kroger's (we lived in Houston & Austin for work for 7yrs in mid 90's-00's ) with a bill of $200! My gosh, I spend approx $400-$500 now each monthly just for me! You need to watch your receipts to make sure amount reflected is correct, not always cashier's fault, bar code's not updated. There is one new store venture that makes me kind of smile, Target! I don't know how many people I've spoken to in other stores, while looking at $5 milk to tell them it's cheapest at Target $2.30 thereabouts! Much of their foods are awesome, prices run from great to normal. Best part is they carry smaller portions that save on cost, waste & space to sell more variety! One problem & could just be growing pains while starting up a grocery section into existing store space, leaves little room for ALL additional needed items... second verse, same as the first! Winn Dixie is convenient, budget friendly (as best you can be) clean, friendly employees, has tons of sales that rotate throughout the month. If you missed you favorite ice cream BYGO free, wait, it'll be back on sale within the month! That's part I like the BEST, knowing there will be double food or half price. Plus they have automatic coupons w/receipts with points earned for each dollar paid....
Read moreMiserable cashier was making Kurt comments out loud saying when she finishes my order she'll have a good day. I overlooked it and said thank you when she handed me my receipt she said NOTHING so I said it again... This cashier has always been nice in the past... I will NOT get in her line if I see her again.... I have major anxiety and the only time I go out on the weekends is to grocery shop. I lost my job over a year ago and have no choice but to use different methods of payment some weeks and coupons.. I was there on Saturday 6/22/24 at 4:59 pm... Blows my mind people can be this RUDE to customers and still keep their jobs. Another entitled worker.... It should not be allowed that you can act any way you please joke about customers make comments in front of them and keep your job... I just needed to get out of the store if I was by myself I would have yelled for the manager Immediately but I was with my boyfriend and I don't act on things when I'm with him..... She was lucky today.... I'm very embarrassed by the way I was harshly treated for...

The flowers rang up $5 higher than the sale sign said but with the store card, it charged the sale sign price.
The steaks... I ended up getting blood on my hand from a leaking package and asked if they had sanitizer and paper towel to wipe my hands with. The answer was no.
The baked potato area was not very good. Nothing there was big enough you put on the grill and there wasn't many to pick from. Not impressed.
First visit:
I think Winn Dixie is too expensive normally unless something is buy one get one free, but sometimes their meat is better than other places and if you have a reward card it can save you money and give you fuel...
