I need to start by saying I like this Market and the staff and the little town for that matter . I would recommend it 100% with the one caveat being if you are a sale shopper like myself, double check your receipt just to make sure there's no errors .
Now if you care to hear my rant continue reading . Otherwise have a wonderful day and enjoy Shady Cove Market and Shady Cove.
I recently moved to Southern Oregon from Southern California. The Shady Cove Market is the only Market in Shady Cove and my nearest market and the only place you can buy liquor. There is the Dollar General and Circle K but I don't count those as markets. The staff is friendly and helpful. They're open till 10 p.m. . They have some pretty good sales and regular prices are reasonable considering my choices. For the most part I'm a Frugal shopper and if it's not on sale I usually don't buy it. I try to be courteous and keep the line going by not distracting the cashier with questions. I help with bagging and loading of groceries when I can keep up. I don't always have time to verify the cashier entered the right price or the computer had the right price for the sale item. I shop roughly once a month so my cart is always overflowing and the sheer number of items makes it difficult to estimate if the grand total sounds correct or not. It appears that most people use this Market as a convenience market and do their regular shopping elsewhere. To check the prices on the receipt is daunting at best but I've had to start doing it after I got home and scanned through the bill and found numerous errors. I decided to check my most recent receipt and found errors on it as well. I live in a rural area and wasn't about to drive back down there for 8 bucks. I couldn't let it slide though. I spend a lot of time making sure I get the best deal. To have it squandered by simple checking errors doesn't sit well. When I brought it up to a different checker on my next visit I knew that I had a 50-50 chance of being refunded the difference considering it's been a few days and I no longer have the products. My point for even bringing it up was partially to get a refund but primarily to inform them of the problem with the way they handled clearance...

Read moreAs an Upper Rogue community member for 20yrs, I have always found this store to be clean, well stocked, friendly employees, great meat & produce. But, I would walk out mumbling about their "high prices", but justifying it with the convenience factor, "At least I didn't have to drive 50miles to food 4 less." Not anymore- I will walk out of Shady Cove Market feeling happy & blessed that I had another opportunity to support this business, it's going to be more often as well! During the epidemic, they truly Stepped Up to The Plate for the residents of our community!! I SEE now what I was truly paying for. Spending more to support local, community-member owned businesses REALLY does pay off in the end!! Thank you Shady Cove...
