Phil's tackle shop is decent but there could be room for improvement. There are 4-6 other smaller tackle shops on the way to Lake Shasta but i would just skip them entirely and just come here. This place has a decent tackle selection with their own worm bar of in house poured plastics in which i believe Jon pours. Anything from bass to trout stuff. Although their trout tackle could be a lil more beefed up as its a little empty for being how many trout fisherman go this time a year. In terms of bass though its fully stocked with everything you would need. Personally i would have maybe done display case with reels inside show casing them upstairs along with rods up there too. Would make for a much more interesting and fun approach to the shop as it would entice people to go upstairs, but since its like life vests and other uninteresting things people don't tend to venture upstairs. The reels are in their boxes which is not a good selling point if customers wanted to purchase reels in my opinion. They should be show cased in glass cases. We have made it a ritual to come here every time before we go to...
Read morePhil's Propeller is the go to place in shasta county to trust having work done to your boat Propeller. Quality work, I worked on my boat for 3.5 years, now put it on wiskytown lake. Having a beautiful day, it was time to go in. Going back to oak bottom I stayed to the left, there was a cove, looking forward the right i saw a way to get to the boat launch. So I went for it. If your reading this DONT DO IT. We went slow and easy, than the sound you don't want to hear. My $879.00 stainless steel prop was bouncing off the bottom. I don't want to explain the words in my head. OK were thought. Turned the boat to go out , hit the throttle slowly and the effect was a high vibration. I pulled to shore, got out and used a crescent wrench to bend things back. We putted for some time. When I got home I look it off and bought it to, Phil's Propeller. I just got it back and it looks brand new. Thank you guys for a job well done. Hopefully I won't do this again but if I do. I'll be back. Thank for...
Read moreA shout out to Phil's for great service! My buddy purchased for me a custom painted "s-waver", which was painted in a translucent trout pattern. Beautiful. Fished it over the weekend. I noted that it sank faster than my S-waver (first clue), so I looked closer and noted the space between front and back were a little different, so I thought it was a painted knock-off. No worries if it catches fish. Fished it the first day but noted that the front part was half filled with water. I did NOT hit it on anything nor cast into the rocks on shore. I took it back that afternoon before they closed, and he replaced it for free, letting me choose one of the ones he had left. I then fished that one the next day. On that day, the rear half was filled with water. Took it back that afternoon and showed it to them (same guy was working both afternoons). He then allowed me to choose a River2Sea S-waver of same size off the shelf! Great service as always, but this was above and beyond! Thank...
