Whoever is the director of the basketball tournament condones racism or is Racist. Our 7 year old boys were playing a predominately white 3rd grade team. When parents from the opposing team decided to tell the director our boys weren’t on the roster and shouldn’t play. The direction came to our coach with this issue and demanded our boys sit out. Now our coach never gave them a roster to begin with. This was clearly racism and privilege at its finest. Our 5 boys were all African American and their team was white with 1 African American boy. Hate to bring race into to this but it is what it is. We had enough boys to play and they were swapped out wity 4 white boys and 1 black boy to finish the game . Needless to say they still lost. Understand how humiliating it was for our kids to come running to our seats saying they could not play. In front of the very same racist people who were clearly upset because our boys were better. We've been going here for years to watch our daughter play volleyball. Now our granddaughter has had her 1st Volleyball camp with no other than the legendary Coach Gwen Pike. What an amazing experience. Coach Pike's love for the game shines through in her ability to teach young girls how to play volleyball. Her teaching is pure genius and instructs them in a fun loving environment that instills the love for the game into every player. We've learned so much from her. The facility itself is great along with the staff that runs the place. The officiating for league basketball is the worst! I've played in adult leagues and my kid plays there as well, the majority of the refs would rather be anywhere but there. With these specific refs the games look more like rugby matches than basketball. Drive the lane, get clotheslined and tackled, no foul! Touch a guy with one finger 35 feet from the basket, whistle, foul! For every good ref, there's at least 4 that...
