Dollar General — Local services in Shiawassee Township

The store itself is terrific and they usually have everything needed! Unfortunately we've had issues the "Manager" of this location. Please read a letter we've had to write to corporate. We live 3.5 miles from the Dollar General, recently built, in Bancroft MI. We are in rural area so we were ecstatic when we learned about the new store. My Wife and I shop there regularly (@ 4531 E Lansing Rd, Bancroft, MI 48414) and have taken note to a recurring issue that I now feel the need to address. The Store Manager is the least welcoming individual I've ever met in this industry. Her demeanor and snooty remarks make it abundantly clear that she does not want to be there and that we, the customers, are a sort of nuisance or burden on her life. We do not know her name, but only that she has red hair (naturally, we believe) and is young (probably early 20s.) She treats Dollar General as if it's Her Kingdom and that we are less than, as if we're invading her time and space by shopping for our needs. It's unacceptable, and after 5+ similar exchanges, we felt compelled to address this issue in hopes it will be resolved. She speaks openly to her employees about "Not wanting to be here and can't wait to go home," and this appears to be her overall vibe EVERY TIME we're in the store. I can personally detail multiple situations in which I left the store in a foul mood due to her comments and remarks made to me/us. I've heard her treat other customers the same. I am also a business owner. I believe in ALL businesses we should treat our customers/clients/potential buyers with respect and professionalism. Not ONE person should feel like they're ruining our day because they chose to shop with us, TODAY. Whether it be additional training or a complete removal, this needs to be addressed immediately. Imagine how many people she's affected with her poisonous belittling condescension AND with her position of power... It's disturbing. Hopefully this gets resolved and we no longer feel like we're a burden to the Almighty Store Manager at Dollar General during such a trying time like Covid-19. This place has super friendly staff. My car croaked during my 70 mile commute home and I was able to get it into the parking lot at this DG. The staff were super friendly and didn't hassle me about popping the hood and waiting a few hours for a tow. The gentleman working on 7/17/24 in the evening/afternoon was extremely friendly, kind and definitely an asset for DG.
