Despite having our personal padlocks in place, we were shocked to find a different lock on our unit one day, changed without our consent or prior notification. This was unsettling, but the chaos we found inside was downright devastating: a complete mess with a long list of valuable and sentimental items either stolen or vandalized.
Among the stolen items were generators, a power washer machine, an electric cutting tool, and a collection of coins, stamps, vinyl records from famous singers, fine Chinese dishware, silver dishes/utensils, various branded watches, and several pieces of jewelry. Even our Treck bike and personal documents were not spared, pushing the estimated total loss to approximately $10,000.
The management’s response to this incident was incredibly disappointing. Upon discovering the burglary and the unauthorized padlock change, we reached out to the onsite manager, who seemed to trivialize our situation. Seeking further assistance, I called customer service, where I was told that the general manager would contact me. Four days have passed, and we have yet to hear anything.
