UPDATE: I have received a few emails from Kevin M, the ReStore Director, regarding this issue. He REFUSES to acknowledge that this 'arrangement' to siphon off the best merchandise to enrich a single reseller has ended, so it seemingly continues with the blessing of the Habitat for Humanity upper management. This is a highly unfair business practice and I don't recommend anyone looking for quality furniture to bother visiting this store, as it apparently gets claimed off the truck with impunity. He instead said that they will continue to enforce existing store policy that nobody is allowed in the back room, as if that is the slightest bit helpful in this instance.
ORIGINAL POST: I tried to purchase a dresser here yesterday that was on the loading dock, was told by THE STORE MANAGER that it wasn’t for sale because a reseller named Gary has “an arrangement” with the pickup driver to have first dibs on any mid century furniture that comes into the store.
So basically a reseller is paying off a delivery driver to get first dibs, and all of it is seemingly a-ok with the store management, I was told “because he’s our best driver”. This is utter nonsense and complete disservice to the organization and the community it serves, only serving to benefit one specific dealer who’s paying off a guy.
Shame on habitat for humanity and this restore for allowing this corrupt behavior. I emailed upper management about this issue and...

I’m I nice but one day he just decided not to speak back!!!! Why. Just awful customer service. I notice EVERYTHING THE INVENTORY IS DONATED Why is he charging SO MUCH??????? Cluttered messy and...
Read moreHonestly, disappointing. I'm an avid thrifter and lately I rarely leave with anything when I stop here. The furniture is INSANELY overpriced- not even considering the new donation stuff, but the OLD, dated stuff is so expensive for what it is. It was honestly shocking to see some of the prices. The small home decor section is priced slightly better but it's still much higher than most other thrifts/non profits. I liked to shop here because I like what they do for the community, but honestly the pricing of the donated items is just way too high to warrant...
