Lee's Ace Hardware — Local services in Smithfield

I've been a customer of Ace hardware in Smithfield for quite a while. Last weekend I was in Ogden helping my sister in-law get her house ready to sell. Instead of driving 5 more minutes to a Home Depot I opted to stop at an Ace Hardware and get the things I needed. Once we were done it was late so I drove back home in cache valley. I ended up buying a paint roller extension that we ended up not needing. Today I took it to Ace Hardware in Smithfield and they wouldn't take it as a return. I find this very frustrating. If you're going to compete with the big box stores don't piss your customers off over a $30 item. In the future I will drive an extra 50 miles to a big box store and no longer support Lee's or Ace...

Lindee was absolutely incredible! We came in with a lot of questions and were treated with the utmost care. She was extremely knowledgeable, and even though our issue was a bit of a hassle, she maintained a positive attitude the entire time and was able to help us. We had originally planned to go somewhere else but decided to stop in—and we couldn’t be happier that we did. The service exceeded our expectations. I normally don't bother eith reviews, but I think this event is special. My husband and I liked in the ace hardware website for a couple of Items . It said that The smithfield store had what we needed in stock for a certain price, We went to the store to find out the Had the wrong price and we showed the cashier what the website said... His response was I don't Know what to tell you. He had the same response for an elderly lady looking for something. Hiring youth needs extra training, we will no longer be going back...
