I had an incredible half-day adventure at Pinnacles National Park in May! Arriving after 3 pm, we embarked on the 1.2-mile Moses Spring trail to Bear Gulch Reservoir. This moderate to challenging hike took us through breathtaking rock formations, caves, and the enchanting Moses Springs. Upon reaching the reservoir, we were awestruck by the mirror-like water reflecting the stunning pinnacle rock formations. We spent quality time by the dam, learning about its role in creating the reservoir. From there, you have three exciting options: continue on to the Rim-High Peaks trail, explore the Chalone Peak trail, or return to the Moses Spring Parking Area. Pinnacles is a true gem for nature enthusiasts seeking a memorable adventure in a short timeframe!

It's amazing to see a reservoir after a long hike. The place is perfect to sit and relax and have some snack. This part of trail leads to the Chalone peaks which is the west side of park. Be careful with the wildlife while hiking the rattle snakes and dotted lizards.

Beautiful place. Quiet, calm and the reflection of the rocks on the calm water is a awesome sight. From here you can either go down to the cave or continue up to the mountains to see pinnacles and some birds of prey (try to spot some condors, they are marvelous!)

This is a wonderful hike. The beauty of the rock formations, and cave like structures along the way will keep you going. We brought along a picnic lunch to enjoy at the reservoir. It was a good day. There's a campground with a pool, and a nice visitor center/ranger store where you check in. There were six of us hiking together ranging in ages from 10 to 79....
